I'm workin!

After nearly 8 years of disability and 3 months of looking for work, I finally got a job.

I had several interviews at a few restaurants, but the manager at the local McDonald's was the only one who would take a chance on me coming off all those years of disability. I just finished my 1st week. I'm sore, tired, in a bit of pain and I've never felt better. It's great to get out of the house and have something to do. On top of that the crew I work with is great, and so is my boss. It's a country store so the customers are nice and the pace isn't too fast. All in all, I've had a great week.

I know how you feel. I worked since I was able to. Then we moved to Germany and I got pregnant. I finish college in December and can't wait to get back to work. I just love have the structured life and not staying in the house all the time!

Congrats! I'm one of the lucky few that the longest I've ever been out of work is 3 weeks and that was when I first moved here.

That wouldnt happen around here. Im scared of the ones in VA actually haha. There is literally a WakArnolds atleast evey 1/2 mile within each other and all are ghetto. Maybe when your boss retires you can by the place and make real good money running the bussiness.

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm just glad to be working. Let me put it this way, minimum wage is a pay raise. I got a call back for a 2nd interview for a caterer, but that's a lot harder work for a little more pay and frankly I'm not certain I can handle it yet.
