K&N, INJEN, or AEM for intake.. i was told the injen ran about $300.00 to order. but my buddies are saying just go custom, cause im paying for a name. Im not 100% what to do. lol and yes ive been looking thru the searches for other threads. Rims.. im thinking black with red trim, no lip. 18s. And no idea on exaust. ehh. Coils are a pretty penny, so i may go with tien springs or eibach, but leaning toward tien.. Any advice is greatly appreciated. :ohno:

Dude... I can attest to this... the AEM intake is absolutely the best intake available for the coupes fitment wise (V6 that is... I don't think they make one for the QR). The MAF bracket doesn't point at the top of the hood like on the Injen (that just bothers me... I don't like the MAF plug being so exposed like that... plus every installation I've seen makes it look like the wire is bent pretty dramatically). You really do get what you pay for with these things... they say you're paying for a name, but you're also paying for professional R&D and professionally built parts. For me, it's all about peace of mind, but you can spin it however you want. I also go by a statement I've found to be very true with most purchases - "Cheap buys twice". ;)

For an exhaust, I own a Tanabe. I find it to be a very clean look, AWESOME fitment, and not too loud. On the other hand, Stillen catbacks seem to be the all around best bang for the buck when you compare all of them. I was honestly sold on the look of the Tanabe, which is most of the reason why I bought it. If you're looking for something simple to install to give you a bit of presence, Tanabe. If you're looking for something like the Tanabe but louder, go Borla. I think Stillen has the best bang for buck offering for a catback. But if you're not caring about cost, the Greddy Spectrum Elite is just pure sexy!

Wheels are purely a taste thing. At the end of the day, get what's gonna make you happy. Just make sure they fit well haha.

Lowering is something I've been studying a TON lately, cause it needs to be next on my list. My big concern is my car is my daily, and it gets driven a LOT. I'm still weighing between the two (springs or coils?). Tein costs more, but is a solid brand. I might wait and spend the extra cheddar on their SS coilovers. Although, apparently the Basic Damper systems are coming out, which will be cheaper, but you can't adjust dampening. So if you don't like the potential harshness of the ride, you're stuck with them.

Anyway... mod it up, dude!

thanks for the feedback man. I want a G35 sounding exaust. so... but idk much about these things so i would prob just get whatever. lol. I don't really want a "custom" intake like u can make on ur own, but don't really want a arm and leg price on the one i choose. lol what do you think about the MOTEGI mr116 or 118 rims for the 3.5 coupe? 18s.

AEM Intake is good, only down side is that you have to bend the metal housing a bit for a racing line strut bar to fit above it properly. :P

As for an exhuast that sounds like a G35, the closest is Nismo but it's up there in price.

No idea for sure. Haven't tested it but I think I remember someone saying it does fit.

as for the exhaust part of this, i can say from experience that Nismo sounds GREAT but to go with what Ranga said, its on the pricer side... you could get it for 600-700 on lees and probs get it installed for about $100 at a local shop which really isnt too bad since it really does sound sicck, but again its up to u since ur the one thats gonna have it lol...

the Nismo will be the closest to the G/Z sound by itself. Add the AEM for sure, and especially the racingline y-pipe and that will be as close as you can get to the G/Z sound. I have the aem and racingline strut tower bar and they fit perfect, just pull the heatshield back a little to get the bolts in and once you tighten it down you're good to go.

Yeah, if you plan to add the ypipe then it will be louder than a stock G/Z for sure. But it's a good kinda loud. ;)

Since I almost pulled the trigger on ordering the Racingline strut tower bar before reading this - can either of you provide pics of your engine bays showing how your STBs look with the AEM intake? I'm worried about this now.
