i kept trying to find something and i couldn't come up with anything more in-depth, so i said fudge it, and went for it.
first, i took out the old fuel pump which wasn't difficult.. aside from unscrewing my sub from it's brackets which i later found i didn't even have to do.SARD 265 lp/h fuel pump. piece of cake. it didn't sit quite the same, being smaller, but like a guy on Zilvia said, just use the fuel hose attached to it to force it into the little rubber thing on the bottom.cool.i ran some new fuel lines which i probably didn't have to, but, why not? if i touch it and it's old, it always breaks.it's like my own Murphy's Law.i put the new NISMO adjustable fuel pressure regulator... also a piece of cake. what DID suck was trying to keep all the fuel from spilling out everywhere. i personally don't care, it's not much to waste, and most of it dries up anyway.. but i was at a shop and didn't want to piss anyone off.
pita, trying to keep house clean.
before installing the fpr, though, i hooked up the fuel pressure gauge (which read in megapascals, not psi like i'm used to.. megapascals [mpa] is metric, i think 1 bar [about 14.5 psi] is 0.1 mpa, or the other way around.. either/or..) to see what it was reading at before hooking up the new fpr, just to see where it sat. i figure, if that's where it is, then cool. i don't want to set it high and f*ck something up.read about 2.2 mpa.so, hooked up new fpr, set it at 2.3-ish, and good to go. i went out this night and tested it out and DAMN! huge difference. my stock fuel pump would cut out at full-throttle, high rpms.at least i think it was the old pump.
total spent:about 250 or something.
time:a few hours. i wanted to make the fuel lines all pretty and without sharp bends, that was the longest.
cool beans.
