Alright, I have just in the past two weeks noticed this. I got in and turned the key and the car clicked and all the lights went out. When I released the key from the start position it all came back on and was normall. I tried again....same thing. Took 5 tries before it suddenly decided to crank.

I was thinking I just didn't push in my clutch pedal enough to engage the switch.....That's what my car does if I try starting it w/o pushing the clutch.

But it did it again a few days later and I know I had that pedal on the foor.

I checked the battery teminals and they are tight and corrosion free.

Right now my car is starting about 25% of the time and it drives me insane.

All I can think is I got a loose wire somewhere....but where??

if the switch is going stupid it may keep it from starting even with your foot on the pedal.

To let you know. ON the back of your clutch pedal itself, there is a little piece of rubber. Mine fell apart about 6 months ago. Check to make sure it's still in good condition. I left it the way it was, security free kill switch

Tighten up your battery connections, this happened to me today.

EDIT * Sorry I didnt read that you already did that already.

K so have you ran through the fuses? I had my lights and clock go out 2 days ago and it turned out I had a 10A break. The one on the top right side, 3rd one down if I remember correctly.

Ok it turned out to be a loose connection on that clutch pedal switch. I disconnected it and sprayed it with elec. terminal cleaner and it starts every time now.

I ahte to pull this from the depths of archives but my 90 starts without the clutch pedal. You can turn the key and start the car in neutral without the clutch pressed. She'll bump ahead if shes in gear.

Must have been the previous owner, but he had the car since it was a year old and is far from mechanically inclined. FAR from it.

I'm now having a weird problem with the car acting up in the morning....is there something here I could check? having to do with the pedal setup? (I'm literally pulling straws trying to find a solution)
