i'm stomped .... ????????no spark????????

hi...been searching for a few days and no help..

heres the story: i was driving one day and my car just started to studder and then shutted off on me...then would not turn on after that..had to have it towed home.

so i was checking out my car and found that i had no spark..so i went off to buy distrubitor cap and rotor ...changed that and still nothing...no spark..then checking back and forth i thought it would be my distrubitor itself so i call my friend up with the same exact car as me a 93' 240sx s13 fastback...i took his distrubitor out and replaced it with mine and the car would start but sound weird b/c its not adjusted right yet...

so im like damn have to go buy a new one...call up autozone and said it cost $180 ... **** that thing is expensive...so i went to go pick it up... go home put the new one in my car and still no spark

so my friends distrubitor worked but not the new one... what is the problem???

my dist went out too when i put the new one in it still wouldnt start but I evuantually figured out that I had it 180 degrees out. Take the rotor off turn it 180 degrees then try it again. After I did that mine started right up

Instead fo checking spark at the coil, try checking for voltage fluctuation (on ~ off) at the coil power connector.you can sin the dist. out and check itIf you have time, try to disassemble the old distributor and clean the pick up inside.Be sure that the ignition module is ok

check your ignition timing and ckp(crank posision sensor) a bad ckp may be your problem,good advice on the rotor buton too
