so the other night, not paying attention I put my terminals on backwards and try starting the car, and then relaized how stupid I was and turned the battery round, so long sotry short, nothing electrical works in my car except my starter which clicks and the turn signal lights in the front, the rear lights don't work, the radio doesn't, the digtal clock lights up but doesn't tell time and so forth and I checked most of the fuses and there ok....am I screwed or can I fix it?

Check all fuses/relay under hood and inside drive side kick panel.Pull every fuse out and replace them with same amp.Odds are if it was for a short time you just sent a spike when you connected them for those seconds. Causing fuses/relay to blow out.If left on for a longer period of time, wires get hot and fuse together create shorts, all kinds of electrical nightmares. Also, if aftermarket radio it generally carries a fuse on the backside.

Did you go over every fuse/relay see if any are blown/replaced.Did you smell any smoke when cranking the car the first time. If wires got hot enough the would have melted the plastic coveringand then fuse to the wire next to it.(smoke~visible, odor)

Hopefully its just a blown fuse/relay somewhere find it replace it and see if the rear lights come on stereo works etc..Finally start car and keep your eyes open for any hint of rubber smell burning.Turn off immediately and trace it and take apart that part of harness.

If damage is already done to the harness tracing it will be a HUGE ordeal espcially dash, have to remove the whole thing, lots of time and money if taken to a shop.

I already seen a post like yours but I dont know if you are the same guy, anyway here is my opinion again, I had the same problem...or mistake...but my car started after I switch to the correct terminals, but the alternator was shot, not putting enough voltage to drive the computer and all electrical systems were acting funny. Brand new alternator ($$$$) fixed all my problems, but your car wont start so you need to check all fuses, get the car started and then checked other things like alternator,battery,etc...

Start with the main fuse first, to see if you electrical is fixed then replace the other non-working objects or blown fuses.... If the main fuse blows check your wires they maybe shorting now... Yeah, your an idiot, Also get some red tape; label + side of the cable with it.
