jester says, I would go to Iraq if I was a soldier and probally get my *** killed. I would do it, because of duty. To be honest, I am a bit ashamed that I never joined the military and did my part for my country. My one major regret in my life to this point.

Werd... I, too, am regretting it...

3 years in AFJuniorROTC in highschool, w/ summer training in Fort Dix, then wasn't accepted in '90 <they were downsizing back then> followed by CC/Rutgers/Vo-tech & still kinda lost in life...

I'm now thinking about this...

http://www.afreserve.com/home2.asp

just d/t the fact that Fort Dix isn't that far from cherry hill & the neighbor, who's a recruiter, said I should polish up on my M16 skills <it's been awhile; the funny thing is they barely have any 'kickback'>

I meet the age requirements, but...

"There are currently 22 different height categories for each gender, each with a minimum and maximum weight. Not being underweight for your category is just as important as not being overweight. Additionally, the height to weight ratio does not factor in a body fat percentage. However, as a general rule, males 29 years of age or less may not exceed 20 percent of body fat. Females 29 years of age or less may not exceed 29 percent body fat. Males age 30 or above may not exceed 24 percent body fat, and females age 30 or above may not exceed 32 percent. "

Well, now i've gotta start working out as well :thinker

K, any reservists here? which branch?

Wow... you guys have really bought into all this propaganda!

You guys are calling the Iraqs barbaric, yet you seem to just ignore the sick things that happen in OUR country everyday!

Did you read the story about this soldier's mom who flew to iraq, and went to her son's military base to see him? She was ok, she didn't die from setting foot in iraq...

Sure its a risky job, but every job has its risk. A guy my dad worked with got sent to iraq for sometime. When he got back he told everyone what it was like. The base where he was staying was constantly surrounded by Iraqs always watching and waiting. You are always being shot at when you leave the base. In fact, in a SINGLE day 600 drivers quit!

You have to face all that, but you get paid like 12k a month, untaxed! I'd go..

I'm not really sure what I just said...

Yeah, that's up there on the talking in circles list. I'll try to surmise what I gathered from it.

It's risky, but most people come out okay. A lot of Iraqis are just curious, rather than hostile.

Look up the number of shark attacks per year. It's obscenely low.

Agreed, I feel the same way :( However, I couldn't have joined even if I wanted too...I have one herniated disk and two degenerative ones in my back, the first time they made me run 5 miles with a 70lb. pack on my back would have been the only time for at least 2 weeks I could do it. My back hates me and if I lied and told them it was fine, they probably would find out and I would be dishonorably discharged, its kinda sad I couldn't join.

See thats the thing, I can't join either. (I mean I'd like to, but I'd have to have a desk job=suxor). Although counter-intelligence does seem pretty badass.

Yeah. I have what the chropractor termed as Subluzation degeneration. (I know that aint spelled right) Aint sure what the hell that is other than my stuff is screwed up.

Of course being fat doesnt help.

See, I wanted to learn a few foriegn languages and get a degree, then get a job with the CIA or NSA. I here the pay is pretty good. :D But alas, I dropped out of college (stupid degree) and have a learning disability in language. So I dont think that ideal would have worked out very well.
