I know this website will have people who will know the answer.

I have a friend of mine who has a '92 Nissan 240sx (hatch). He wants to go sr20det and recently saw my lsd in action and wants to go lsd as well. The question though is will an S14 lsd fit?

The reason he is asking is because he will soon be putting in a '94 SR20DET engine. Would the LSD out of a S14 (he found one for a deal but isin't sure if it will work for his setup) bolt up to his S13 chasis? If so, would he need to do anything with the driveshaft for the S14 motor to S14 differential?

I hope that made sense.

Will these work together? if so what about a driveshaft?-Rik

This is an old topic that's been covered before.

But I'll answer it anyways.

The S14 pumpkin (diff case) is similar enough to an S13 pumpkin. The front mounts up differently. The S14 uses a set of rubber bushings to mount the front to the undercarriage whereas the S13 hard bolts. You can get new rubber bushings from Nissan if your diff doesn't have them, or you can order a set of solid spacer/collars from just about any reputable vendor (SPL has the best IMO).

The S13 rear cover has 4 studs on it, while teh S14 has 2 studs. The S13 cover will bolt onto the S14 pumpkin, so swap rear covers and you're good to go.

IIRC, the pumpkin's length is identical to the S13's, so you'll just need an ABS driveshaft and you'll be in business.

S14 Blacktop into an S13 Chassis either requires:

A) Over 7-10 hours of research and cross referencing the S13 KA and S14 SR FSM for wiring diagrams to ensure that you get all the wiring and conversion done correctly.(I did this.)

or

B) Pay someone roughly 280+ Shipping to do your wiring. With like a 1 week turn around/down time.

If you choose A, get ready for some patience and keeping your colors and wires straight as you chop off the Dash/Power Interface Plug that contains roughly 42 wires. :D. Yea, that power interface junction gets kind of hectic when like 3-4 wires merge to one for the ECCS Power Relay. Good luck though. Just a heads up the "hand-written" file on the internet as a S14 SR -> S13 Chassis write-up has some/alot of inconsistencies to how it actually should be done since that write-up was done on theory/reverse operation(S13 SR -> S14 Chassis).
