I'm not really a fan of the coupes in the first place, but i know a lot of people love them, and they are overall nice cars. Just too small for me. But I can't believe what i read today.

Hopefully this isn't a repost, but I didn't see any threads on the first page, so i'm assuming its not.

Nissan will not be making a new coupe. And the coupes from 2013 will only be a 2.5 CVT POS. so now the coupes just like the 4th gen sedans will be the last 6spd manuals you can get with a VQ. Those of you with manuals, keep the car just for the rarity of having one.

The news of this has been kicking around for a little while now. I can't speak on the validity of what the article is reporting. From what I've seen it's quite possible Nissan could get back into the Coupe segment from another perspective. We'll see.

i know the theory has been around ever since the 5th gen sedans were announced, I was looking forward to the coupes at least still having a 6spd and a V6 so i could still get parts. I guess its a good thing that this is probably going to be my last nissan anyways after seeing the path that the company is going down.

I wish Nissan would stay somewhat enthusiast oriented.

I see Nissan potentially killing the Altima Coupe off in favor of a BRZ/FRS competitor. I'm all for it if they do that. However, Nissan has few exciting, fun to drive cars (for people with normal incomes) these days. IMHO, they have NO answer for cars like the GTI, Mazdaspeed3, WRX (base), BRZ/FRS, Mini Cooper, Mazda Miata, Civic Si (becoming more questionable though)... the list goes on. I think this needs to change drastically. They seem to only want to be involved with two things - Electric or Crossover.

This is the company that built the GT-R. You'd never know it if you looked at dealer lots - you'd see four hundred rental cars, 28 different kinds of crossovers, a couple trucks, and two cars plugged into an outlet by the front door.

Honestly this does make sense considering the mini Z that will be coming out.

Unfortunately they seem to think the Juke would be that competitor.
