So I just got my G in April and I love it. The only time I get people sitting in the back seat is when we take my car to lunch...

Well I was driving the other day and saw a stain on the ceiling in the back seat by the o-crap handles... I could see it in my rear-view....

So i pull over and look and it looks like grease or some sort of oil. And it's on both sides. It looks like some...#%&*!... person with dirty fingers was rubbing the ceiling. The person I think it was has been told kindly that they are no longer allowed in my car.

Now I need to figure out how to remove the stain with out ruining the ceiling or leaving a color change from a strong chemical.

I am trying here to see if anyone knows a sure fire way to remove the stain without causing more damage. I am most likely going to take it to a professional detailer by weeks end because it is really bothering me and I notice it every time I look in the mirror.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

It's funny you posted this. I noticed two dark places on mine from when it was in the body shop.

I was wondering the same thing. I might try a small amount of Tuff Stuff

http://www.amazon.com/STP-Stuf...KL7KK

and see how it does.

I accidently rubbed a protein bar on the roof once ( i was getting in while eating and just rubbed the roof with it...) i freaked out...

Use Shout. It got the stain right out, and I've never seen it again.

Or carpet cleaner. If that does not work, try AFTA which is Dry Cleaning fluidThere is also a bar, like an eraser that is great at getting staind out of fabric but I can remember the name

Whatever you use, just test it in an inconspicous place (like under a piece of trim) before you go all out.Good luck

That is a good idea. Test it on the flip side of a visor. (I guess they are the same fabric)

I would use demineralize water using a soft rag and then let it disappear on its own.

The reason I mentioned demin water is that it adds nothing but removes something. I have used it on many other things with good results, the only issue is that it is the perfect solvent.

Speaking of De-mineralized water, I keep a spray bottle of distilled water in the trunk, for quick spot free cleanups, like bird droppings.

Before I retired I worked at a power plant. The storage tanks hold several hundred thousand gallons of demin water. In the early days more than a few cars got washed this way and the effect is really amazing. Dirt and soap just flows right off and water spots just don't really exist.

We then would polish with TR3 which seems to be different than what you can buy now, but then so was the paint.

One of the differences between demin water as well as RO derived water is the lack of silica which is present in most other methods as it will carry over into the steam and condense back into water.
