So my friend gave me his broken Xbox 360 the other day. The DVD Rom drive was not working and, because I have no job and no one wants to give me a f***' job, I decided to take it apart and fix it. Turns out that there is a magnet in the aluminum case that the actual drive is in that helps pin the CD between the optic and the top. Well, the magnet is either too strong, or the motor in the drive is too weak, because the drive cannot break the bond of the magnet to allow the drive to eject. No idea how that could happen, but whatever.

So I fixed the Xbox, works good as new. Then, because I have no job, I decided that the original 360 case was boring so, because I have no job, I decided to make a new one... OUT OF LEGO'S!!!

I left the top open here so that I can grab the little piece on the DVD ROM drive. I can manually break the magnetic bond if I need to so that I can eject it. It ejects when there is a disc in it. I guess that provides enough of a barrier between the magnet so that it can disengage.

So that's what I've been doing. Anyone want to give me a job? I have a degree in Economics!

Dude what happened with sales position? Are you going to end up going back to SE GA? Why don't you try a temp service or something in the area or maybe even delivering pizzas for the mean time.

Work is to be done. I would say I could hire you, but its up coming summer and I'm slow during summer.

Yeah, so... the company I was working for didn't tell me until later that I had to get 15 clients before I would start receiving my base pay. After 3 weeks, I had 3 clients. Myself being one. So I didn't make a dime from that company. I had to quit because living costs money and stuff. So... yeah. I'm planning on starting my own business doing a kind of mobile mechanic, but I need some start-up cash and I am having no luck at all finding a job of ANY kind here. Oh, and yeah, I am back on Saint Simons now. Living at home is cheap as free.

Oh I see. Ya its hard in Atlanta if you don't have the family to help you out. I've tried to make that choice a couple times, even living with old friends was going to be hard.

Lol, Nala has probably been high once, and cannot fathom actually putting effort into something.

I wonder if he's ever even HAD a job before?

OP, nice Xbox! Now if only you could get paid to do something that creative......

I lost my first Elite to that same problem. :squint:

Nice solution. I'm curious to see whether you'll end up with melted legos...

I've been worried about the same thing. I think Lego's have a pretty high melting point though...

Plain Lego bricks are, of course, made from ABS plastic, whose melting point is a bit above 200 degrees Celsius

I guess I crossed the 200*C line plenty of times with the help of WD40 as a kid. I melted so many legos making home movies.
