Now that I look, unless the whole connector was juxtaposed then it must be G-V that was reversed. It will depend on the circuit protection inside the alternator. You basically hooked up raw 12V to the generator lamp driver on pin 2, and the driver works by grounding the lamp. If it isn't protected against overload, it would fry as soon as it tried to turn on the generator lamp. So it's possible your lamp won't work, but it's likely the regulator circuitry would be unharmed and the alternator should still have output. I'd put a voltmeter on it once you straighten out the wiring, it should be outputting around 14V if nothing got hurt. If it's much lower or much higher then it might be cooked.
