Yep.... I bought a 1988 Mazda RX-7 10th Anniversary Edition TurboII on Saturday the 2nd. I've been looking for one of these for years now, and finally found the perfect one for $1800. Perfect project car, but runs! I drove it 4 hours the day I bought it and it went off without a hitch.

The engine needs a rebuild as it has 192,000 miles. The coolant seals are slowly going, compression is low (75 & 80 psi last test, I'm about to do my own), and while it will hold boost, it doesn't boost much. The car does have a new clutch though, which grabs rather nicely.

The interior is in damn fine condition except for the leather seats, which need reupholstered. The car also is in need of a paintjob, but is tolerable for now.

This car is exactly what I've been looking for. Once the 240 is running again, this one will go under the knife for a motor rebuild and general restoration. I'm extremely happy with this car, I love it to death.

It also came with a mint condition 10th anniversary bra which not many people seem to have. I have taken it off except for the piece that slides over the hood as I discovered quite a bit of paint damage under there which is somehow a disturbing shade of brown. I did wash the car yesterday and it looks much better. Also intact is the owners manual and original service records...even the dealer inspection sheet before the car went onto the lot for the first time. Pretty cool stuff.

240 Update - Yes I still have the S14 and no I will not be selling it. It's still not running, and I haven't done much with it the past few weeks as I've had other things going on. I am going to attempt to get it back on the road by the 23rd however, as there is a local autocross I'd like to go to then.

So now I have both an S14 and an FC3S. I pwn j00.

Cool! Good find. What exhaust are you getting?

If you decide not to do the rebuild your self, there is a guy up in TN that does refurbs. Also there is a guy down near Colmbia that sells RX parts. Banziatoyota is what he goes under on R7club.com, if you need any parts (which you may already know these guys, if so never mind). He started selling pully kits and some other stuff, but I can't remember his web site.

I can look up those sites if you need them.

Anyway......................... :D

I thought the headlight washers were pretty neat. My friend just bought a RX-7 TurboII 10th anniversary one too.

I bought the car from that guy in TN (Kevin Landers), and I defintely know Banziatoyota (John) as we're both in the SC RX-7s club. Just met up with him last weekend, actually. :)

As far as exhaust, planning on getting the full Racing Beat turbo-back setup.

And yeah, I'm going to do the rebuild myself. No better way to learn.

Right on with your new project. Looking forward to seeing what you do to that thing. My friend just bought a 87 na and we're slowly getting it to auto-x standards. Maybe we can learn from some of the stuff you do. Good luck on the rebuild! -Jeromy

Could you post some interior pics? Specifically the dash.

I don't have the slightest clue what the inside of an RX7 looks like.

stickgoat,

I figured you would know John. He is too close to you not to know him, especially if you are into RX7's. I got some parts off him last year. I was tempted to go after the black TII he had last year when I was down and get Kev to do the engine.

I have talked to Kevin a few times about getting prices from him, but never have gotten up there. Always seem to have other options present them selves. Of course the cheap way out hasn't worked for and my friend yet. He didn't have another TII up there did he? :D

Are you doing any racing with John?

PS If for some reason, something happened to the car and you parted it out, I want the hood.
