Hello, love me G50. I saw this on ebay, wondered if anyone could give me their opinion on what this might look like. Thanks.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Welcome to NICO, Trumpkin!

Those gauge overlays were soon removed by the two or three who installed them.

Be sure to spend some time (a lot of time, actually) reading the previous posts. There is a lot of information on the site. The wheel has been invented and tested frequently here.

Start with the sticky Articles above, then all of Q45tech's posts after reading the FSM.

Those gauge faces are for '89-'92,.

They will not fit on the '93 and up Q45 cluster.

Car to explain why?

I have a 1993 made in 11/92 and its about as late as a 1993 can be before being a 1994 and yet it still has the same gauges as the 1990-1993.

Nealy all the components if not everything is cross compatible between 1990-1993, Besides some of the interior.

Nearly every one on this board will say they look bad.

Do you know how hard it is to replace the current ones?

If you want to replace them, i recommend you get an extra instrument panel just in case you screw your current one up.

But really those instrument panel background looks like RICE.

I recommend you restore the drive train then worry about how your car looks like, because people can say what they want, But you will have a better running car than they might.

I think they look good to everyone except the driver who has to stare at white gauges all the time. The brightness has been the main complaint from the few who have tried these.

To the OP- Post this same question in the VIP forum and you may get a totally different response.....or be directed to colored LED's. Enjoy your Q.

Sure, but I'll let the picture do the explaining part.

Top cluster is from my '94 Q45. Gauges in center are from ebay ad posted above. Gauges at the very bottom are from a '92 Q45

(Hint:Take note of the odometer placement*)

The LED's look nice but it's a lot of work to add a resistor to each new bulb. Search out a thread from QSIguy. He tinted all his bulbs red to get a unique color for his cluster, dash and door lights.

IMO doing the LED's really isnt a big deal once you get the soldering iron warmed up its not a big deal to sit down and solder about 20 of those things together... maybe for a rainy day...

Reading his thread about the leds, it sounds like he just plugged them in.Thats what someone else on the thread said too. I assumed these are plug in's?
