I just bought a Black 06 G35 with the sport/aero with the 19's.. It has 20k miles and the tires are SCREAMINGG! Im in need of new tires i would like all seasons but given the stock sizes i do not have many options. I was wondering if i could put any different tires sizes on the stock 19s without screwing anything up ie traction control/vdc/ect. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to NICO.

There are two basic sizes that you can use.

The stock 225/40/19 Front and 245/40/19 Rear OR245/35/19 Front 275/35/19 Rear

The optional size will be very close in ratio to the stock size and shouldn't cause any significant problems.

I would be concerned that the new size may wear slightly faster because it is being put on narrow rims by comparison to the tread width, but that is something that one of the members who runs this size should report on. Not me.

I have the optional size up front and the stock size in the rear lol.

You can usually go 5% bigger or 5% smaller with zero problems

my stock size was 225/55/17 on the street I have ran 235/45/17 and 235/50/17.

At the track I run 245/35/17 and 275/40/17. If I don't turn off VDC the car WILL NOT move with the 245/35/17

Thanks for both of your opinions! Gwoods, do you think if i went with 275 in back and 245's in front my VDC would be giving me a problem? Because that is what im leaning towards..

Apro:

I have the same wheel size as your car. My G-35 is a 2007 coupe and yours is a 2006--no difference in tire size and suspension. I switched from OEM tires (225x40x19 in front and 245x40x19 at the rear) to a fantastic tire brand called Toyo Proxes T1R---unbeleivable tires that still grip like brand new even at almost 14,000 miles. I take my car to a secret twisty track and these tires kep me smiling all day. Below are my new tire sizes.

Front size is 245x35x19

Rear size is 275x35x19

Another member here called Joe603 inspired me to go bigger and I did. He also has the same tire size. When they install the tires as well, ask them to add pure Nitrogen to all the tires and see if you like it. I love the Nitrogen in my tires. I beleive it has also helped with reducing the wear on my tires by keeping the alignment intact for a much longer period. Our cars are prone to uneven wear, especially with the rear tires, but with my current set up, my rear tires are wearing much slowly and evenly----I am impressed. In addition, I almost never use the VDC. I put it OFF before i start moving. Its too intrusive when i want to take off. Goodluck on your tire choice. I hope this helped.

No it will not give you any problems!

Many members here have that set up!

Post some pics after you get new rubber.

Also... I wanted to stay with the stock 245 40 19 rear and 225 40 19 front. I went on ebay and bought the OEM Stock tires for really cheap. I got two rear tires with 7/16 for 90 bux shipped to my door!

You might want to check that out too! Just my .02 to let some one use the first 20% of the tire and you get them really cheap.

the T1R's are my favorite summer tires...the PROXES 4 are really good too...with better tread wear, just not as grippy

Tiredealsforless is great. You get your tires shipped to you within 2 - 3 days--they are very fast. If it takes a week or more to get your tires, then something went terribly wrong along the way.

Thank you all for the welcomes and the advice I am almost positive i am going to go with the 275's in the rear and 245's in the front.. Unfortuantly its going to be a while before their on the car because i just purchased a snow setup for the upcoming months I went with the bilzzak LM22Z on some 17 inch wheels EXPENSIVE..
