Howdy, All.. I am also new to this list.. I'm in North Central Texas, I also have a '70 510.. A WPL, actually.. I bought this 510 Wagon brand new in April 1970. It has a touch over 300,000 miles on it. With the exception of the Weber Downdraft, it is bone stock.. Okay, the stock L-16 engine has been bored .030" to clean it up after the engine "ate" a cam chain and it's guide and it has the L-18 head (larger valves) installed. I am now in the process of installing the "SSS" Intake and SU HS-4's. I need a bit of assistance.. I'm trying to find out if the "Quinton Hazell" brand Tie Rod Ends, Part Number "QR1402" are the "Inner" or "Outer" tie rod ends.. I am in some serious need for these parts as my WPL is a Daily Driver.. Would appreciate any help.. Thanks, Charles.

jEzTeR; I would appreciate it.. In all the years I worked for Datsun ('68-'73), I "collected" every Service Manual for every Datsun Model being produced at the time and never once thought about getting a Parts Book.. Factoring in the "aftermarket" parts and one would need a warehouse full of parts books.. BTW, Am I the only one here with a "stock" original 510?? Chas.

Hi Charles,

Palmerwmd alerted me to your need hoping and thinking I could be of help.

First, you may just be the only one with a 'stock' 510 on the board, but you're not the only one in proud existence. There's one that shows each year at the Mt. Shasta All Datsun Meet.

On the QH tie rods, and things 510 in general, I really know very little. My thing personally is the '67 RL411, and generally all things Datsun, but pre-'68 by U.S. standard, and non-roadster.

However, I did check some of my reference manuals and found this:

Beck-Arnley left inner - 101-2442 right inner - 101-2426 left outer - 101-2459 right outer - 1012434

Moog right outer - ESF-2 right inner - ESF-4 left inner - ESF- 8 left outer - ESF6

My interchange manual doesn't list tie rods, and I can't seem to find much more of help right off.

Good luck.

Datsun 411; I have talked with a few Dime owners in the north Texas area (none have "stock" Datsuns.. None had ever seen a stock Datsun until they saw mine ;-} ) who annually attend the Mt Shasta event.. have even seen their "home movies" of the event.. Looks like a blast.. I appreciate the part numbers, I did locate the Moog number thru a website (I didn't write the URL down, tho.).. The B/A number may be useful in crossing it to the QH, if I can find someone with a QH catalog.. even the QH Website doesn't list any "Steering" parts.. that section of their on-line catalog isn't "up" yet.. And, of course, I have the original Datsun part numbers. I appreciate the reply.. Thanks. Charles.
