not sure what part of TN you're in but there are 2 z clubs in TN to my knowledge, they might be good resources, and I believe in nashville they have a pulla part, worth checking out, and there is a place in maryville TN called zbarn, they have a website and a great selection

Check Crawford's Z service down in Nashville, good chance they'd be able to tell you of one...

if not I do know of a couple 280ZXTs up in the louisville area (unless Marshall's crushed theirs)

Hey Dude, If you don't find a complete donor car, I think I have all the stuff you would need. Give me a shout at [email protected] and we can work out something. I have the complete EFI/dist/manifold/low_comp pistons/harness etc. I bought it all to do just what you planned, but never found a Z that seemed like "the one"...Thanks, jim

the difference in the N42 to F 54 blocks is minimal, the N42 has all 6 cylinders siameased, the F54 has only every other cylinder sleaved, both are fine, I'm not sure if the N42 has the bung for the stock knock sensor but a bracket coud easilly be fabbed if not, the current theory is that the n42 is stronger but this argument keeps goind back and forth,m the bottom line is both have been used to make excessive amounts of power with great success

Totally agree on the blocks!!! If you are trying to make power such that block failure is an real issue I hope you have really deep pockets...either block is fine for reasonable turbo applications. Moderation is the key...reasonable boost/reasonable overbore/reasonable rpm limit/good engine management and it will live. If you are trying for 8k_rpm_allday/1000hp it will cost a huge pile...this doesn't just apply to L-series if you read the 240sx posts there are frequent "i just blew up my SR20" lessons to be learned. have fun. jt

OK COOL now I know and knowing is half the battle right? I just want a nice clasy car for the weekends thats all. Just 8-10 psi intercooled. Even at that low of boost, guess I wouldnt matter.

you'll be fine, 10 psi is the limit on stock injection with no i/c, adding the i/c you should be good to about 14psi or so before the headgasket starts to seep, arp headstuds and a metal hg you're good to go, unfortlnately the stock injection system and injectors are pretty well maxedotu about that level as well

if you're still looking for a L28det I think I know where there is a complete set up. been stored inside and has the motor hoses air flow meter wiring harness and ECU all was running good when it was removed but it does have about 100,000 plus miles. It is located in Virginia which is just a few hours away
