Parking lot a**munch scraped the pax/rear quarter panel. First: that's some pretty week paint. There is hardly any depth to it and I can chip it with my finger nail.

2nd: Any suggestions to clean this up besides taking it to bubba to sand/primer/paint?

Dude, that sux

You might be able to buff it out with a polish....??

Really, the only good fix is to get the section painted, which shouldn't be too bad.

I've saved many a scare with the old polish trick... lol, my dad didn't even notice the time I backed up into his altima!!! This is going a while back, but I think you might be OK, I won't look quite the same, but for now, if you're on a budget, would be an easy fix,

Good luck!

Since the scrapes went all the way down to the black plastic - it cannot be "buffed out". Now if the black marks were paint from a black car - then it could be removed.

You can try some touch up paint - but it won't look like new. Either ignore it for now - and wait until you get some more damage - or just get it repainted now.

Good Luck

I thought the black marks were from the other car....guess not, if that is the bumper itself and not paint from the other car then repaint is the only real repair.

Nope, not from the other car, that ******* took the layer of paint off. Really irritates me. We only take it out on nice days. Never fails.

Very sorry to hear/see it!! I would try taking it to a small shop to see what they would charge to touch it up, or I would do it myself. If it still couldn't live with it, I would check into having it resprayed.

I wonder what a dealer would say when you asked them about the thin paint.

The last one I went to talked about their amazing multicoat painting system...blah...blah...blah.

What's especially sad is the white pearls are supposed to have 3 coats of pearl above and beyond the 7 or so layers of paint/primer.

Poly Urethane doesn't like paint.

My wife gave the G a gentle kiss with her Sequoia resulting in similar damage. I've just been living with it if I were to do anything I'd try touch up paint.

I used a clay bar kit to remove the blue paint.
