Alright not really, im just lookin for a good KA.. I'm kinda a noobie and i figured i would look for a little advice before a waste my money like i tend to do from time to time.

I spent my day today running around to local junkyards to look for a deal on a good start to my first KA-T project but i didnt really have too much luck at most yards. The only 2 worth bringing up are a '93 KAde that was taken out of the car and was being held in a storage bin and a '95 KA. The first motor was very clean and looked like it was taken good care of but the guy wanted $400 dollars for it. The second motor was still sitting in the car, and the guy told me it had been sitting in the yard for "a few years" but it only had 86,000 Miles on it.. the only problem with that motor is the guy is asking for $500.. and when i told him there was no way i was paying more than $300, my amazing haggling skills seemed to fail me.

Im just looking on a little advice as to whether i should go back and offer a new price or just let it go.. I dont really have much experience at junkyards and i was kinda just talking out of my *** when i said wouldnt pay more than $300 considering i dont really know what a motor like that is worth. Feedback would be much appreciated.

Buy the cheapest motor and trans. you can find and do a complete rebuild so there is no questions about reliability, and you'll basically have a new car.
