Buz, the former owner:http://jesda.spilky.com/la2006/100_0322.jpg

Parked at the Reagan Library:http://jesda.spilky.com/la2006/100_0328.jpg

I tried to come here the day I arrived in L.A. to get an oil change but ended up getting stuck in rush hour traffic on 405. I foolishly misestimated my time of arrival. Even coming back the next day, I was still an hour late.

I went in and was greeted by my service writer, a girl who couldn't have been over 21. She looked exactly like Lisa Loeb but with a bigger chest. In addition to an oil/filter change, I had an inspection done. It took over an hour, partly because I was late and someone went ahead of me, so I ended up falling asleep in the lobby and snoring. I woke up eventually and walked up to the front, asking her how much longer it would be. She informed me that "I tried to wake you up by making some noise and scratching your knee but you were completely out."

I told her that I was sometimes comatose. I paid the cashier $39 and left, but wait THERES MORE! When I bought the car, it had two bad injectors, a CEL, weak acceleration, and poor idle -- this is why Buz sold the car to me for only $1300. Through some magic, they fixed it. Too ecstatic to go back and ask what they did, I decided to drive around in my newly invigorated Q. I made it across the country and the problem hasnt returned. I bought a perfect car for 1/3 its value.

I should have gone back and asked her what they did to fix it, and asked her to lunch. She kept talking about how she hadn't eaten all day.

of the girl!!!

Damn it Jesda... you of all people should have known. If you had stopped snoring and drooling on yourself in the lobby, maybe we could all know the wonderful feeling of witnessing a Q fixing goddess.

You must have been comatose not to get the hint!

Regardless, congratulations on the new Q!

Congratulations, looks just like my 1990 down to the piepans and chrome fenders. I like the color paint, still original? Does yours have the two tone interior?

Wouldn't have made any difference, Rob. I hear he sleeps through that, too .

Jesda,Congrats on the Q! I know you never left, but good to know you're back behind the wheel of a Q. I'm just glad you didn't have one of your narcoleptic episodes while driving near the rim of the Grand Canyon!

Nice ride Jesda. What year is it? I see the chrome fender trim is becoming more popular now.

Are you going to keep the BMW?

Its a '90. I sold the BMW for a profit a week ago. We just dont have enough curved roads here to justify owning it. I need torque, long legs, and passing power.

That's nearly a SoCal NICO meet

My favorite videos are the ones of the beach ... the colors are so deep and rich, just breath taking

What a coincidence, In-N-Out is Stacy Keibler's favorite place in the world too (don't ask me how did I know that).

LOL!!!

Some things I learned when poking through the records tonight:Tranny rebuild at 87k in 1998. $4400.Chain guides and chain in 1998. $4000.New radiator in 98. $500.Alternator replaced at dealer with OEM part recently.Water pump 2 years old.New fan.New turbine sensor.New rear main seal.Valve covers done.A couple injectors and fuel rail were done recently. Its been deBosed, thank goodness.Sunroof motor.Much much MUCH more...

Basically, the whole car has been rehabbed from nose to tail, and I'm driving a practically new Q45. I need to resurface the side bolster on the driver's seat and clean the sunroof rails. Due for front brake pads too.

I thought I was getting a great deal to begin with, but it just kept getting better.

I am one VERY happy motorist!

And Keibler is indeed a hottie. I have her Maxim issue tucked away somewhere.

Awesome pics, Jesda.

My trip to San Francisco, LA, Vegas, Albequerque, OK, Memphis, then to Birmingham was very similar. I had already been to the Grand Canyon, so I did the more southern route. We went over the Hoover Dam. I took all the Dam pictures I wanted to .

The car looks great, and it is a much better deal than Layla would have been for you.

Congrats!

The next time, take more pictures of the good looking girls, and less pictures of food. We know what your true passion is, though.

So any theories on exactly how they fixed the problems with the car?

Possibly the injectors just needed to be cleaned or something like that? That's amazing that you got what amounts to a perfect G50 for $1339, lol.

What kind of HP should a 1990 w/the ECU be putting out? It should be like 325hp+ right?

Have you gotten under it and generally gone over it with a fine-toothed comb since getting back?

Again, congrats. That G50 > the E34

Rex,What is the date to qualify as an "early build" '90- and what is the significance? Mine was built 12/89.

Anybody notice how Buz's outfit color coordinates with the Q. Must be like how pet owners begin to look like their pets after a while .

My guess is we'll begin to see Jesda sporting a lot of sandy beige/black outfits soon!

Paul

BTW- I think the color is great and it looks like the exterior is mint. Good buy, Jesda.

Just like I didn't care too much for IPQ. My solution? Paint bronze colored trim to black. Throw on some exhaust tips from a 94-96, and you'll be amazed at how much it sets the car off.

Dude, you should have said you had a camera and I could have gotten some shots of your *** crack while you were installing the ECU in my work parking lot

At least you made it back in one piece.

The ECU that was in the car is from a '92 with active suspension. Wonder how THAT got there...

12/89 might qualify, but I can't say for sure. I wonder if Robert could look at the ECU and see anything.

"Supposedly", the mapping was more agressive, the engine had sodium valves, and there "may" have been less sound deadening ... and other rumored tweaks. But I don't have any confirmed info.
