Hey folks,

I have no idea why it's not fitting back in correctly or if I might have lost a peice.

I have an '89 240sx. I was doing some speedocluster stuff (lights to red so its easier at night on the eyes) and had to take the steering columb covers off, drop the steering column, etc. There is a little peice that goes around the lock cylinder/release button. It's oblong in shape. I can't seem to put the stupid thing back on with it looking right/fitting well. It just pops off again or doesn't look like it's all the way on.

Am I missing something? Is it not just push/press on and fit? I tried inside the columb cover and outside the column cover. It definitely should fit from the outside.

Help!?-Rik

Mine does the same thing. I looked at it for several minutes before realizing one of the tabs was broken off.It goes on easy enough and clicks in place, but every week or so it comes off when I remove the key. I will probably replace it with a new one it is available. I can not stand little things like that not working. Drives me crazy.

Pics?

Edit: oh wait you are talking about that little plastic piece? There is a hole in it that the key release button has to go through. make sure you are lining it up correctly.
