Maybe not easier but at least it will be something fresh, and when he gets fed up with the VG, he will just be more motivated to work on the KA . IMO I think thats a great idea. I have only seen one Clean VG swap into a 240 so far, it would be sick to see another one. My buddy and me just finished swaping a 383 in his 300zx if anyone is interested Il post some pictures. But it came out really clean and nice, except when we were driving the moron forgot to lock the hood pins and the hood went poof right into our windshield lol.

Thinks happen for a reason....First engine I thought it was a sign to check twice run it once. So now this could be jsut a little car common gremlin, which I can fix this weekend. OR to me it's a sign of get the d@mn KA out of me and put in something bigger.I already know how hard the vg swap will be. Reason why I'm buying a welder, torch, and other goodies. I'm stressed out. I need something that will keep me thinking, not running in circles....

Florida why dont you try getting tune it by an expert. I have no idea who or where is a good tuner by your area but there should be someone that can help you. So far i love my ka-t, everyone have problems with any car and motor. Something that people does not think about is that rods bend every day with big amount of power and without it on different motors. Good luck with the vf it will be great. Just do not quit without driving the car properly.

Just my thoughtsTona

Don't understand my car was driveable in low throttle. Was jsut trying to get it so I could go wot. I already had a dyno appointment set-up for tomorrow but had to cancel because of this. I am taking it to a dyno, but have to get it to a point where I can drive there. I go a local dyno here in town that I just found out about. They build dragsters

What type of tuning were you doing? I just put in my 460cc injectors and got the A/F fairly correct. The car runs great. I know you can lean it accross the board by altering your K factor. I don't know about fine tuning the upper RPM range yet but I will soon.

Huh??? You corrected for 550cc with the SAFC? Now you can't get the timing right. The SAFC might be problem 1. Altering MAF signal fools the ECU into thinking there is a lighter load on the motor. This causes it to advance timing. Alos, getting the timing set for a turbo can be a bear.

I have the SOHC and I was able to burn a chip to correct for my 460s. Do you have the SOHC or DOHC? Have you checked out http://www.hybridka.com ?

Also, there is always JWT.

OK, I see you have the DOHC. Have you looked into Bikirom? What about an Enthalpy tune. I hear Enthalpy rocks. You can find him at http://www.KA-T.org

Nope. But might be soon. I'm about to have a motor built and don't want to have all these piggy backs. If one wire comes loose I'm fubared.Bikirom is a very good option for me right now. Rained today so couldn't get outsde to try to fix her

If your running normal suction maf on the intake side of the turbo and your valve cover breather hose is hooked to the turbo intake side, it sounds like you popped some ring lands.

Seen this happen 5 times already from different people and all were due to popped ring lands. Im one of those 5 people..!!

Maf was soaked with oil and air filter was DRENCHED with oil dripping away like there was a quart of oil inside the filter that tipped over... Real nasty.

Yup that's what I'm thinking. However I checked that line and there wasn't any oil in it.....I changed the plugs today and it wouldn't start....My starter is fried.... So I popped the clutch in reverse and fired right up and no smoking like it use to....... I'm at 17degrees at WOT on 10psi...... and a/f ratio is in low 10's even the 9's. I get my FPR this week.
