so I've been looking for an S13 for about 3 months now. not just in my area, but anything I can find within like 200 miles. I cant find a ****ing car. its depressing me and ruining my life.

I will pay 2000 for a running s13, even if its only worth 1200. Im so ****ing desperate it isnt even funny. I dont know where else to look besides autotrader and ebay. HELP. I live in saint louis if it matters.

You may want to look into this. There's a guy looking for a 240sx shell in Northern VA.

heres the deal I will make with you right now. If you get that and put a head gasket on it for me, I'll fly out there, and give you, in cash, the cost of the car, the cost of the gasket, and however much you want for finders fee and labor for the headgasket.

as long as the car will run for 9 months, Its good enough.

Im about to get another shell car that has no engine, bushings, or shocks.... I plan to do an engine swap over the winter then put all the stuff from the running car onto the non running one and make the non running one into the running one.

"Desperate" is definitely an understatement.

Seriously, just calm down and be patient. You'll find a car. Be picky. You'll find what you want. It took me almost 6 months to find a car...and I wasn't even soley looking at 240s...my range consisted of almost anything Honda or Nissan that was 96 and up. Don't stress over an automobile, there are many other things to worry about.

I would definatley do that i am getting ready to move to arizona in like two months or so but depending on where you are we could figure something out, since it is the sohc like mine it should only take me a night or an afternoon to replace that and i think i can get a whole engine gasket kit for like 100 bucks or something..let me know what you think

Im in saint louis.

89S13SILVIA, e-mail me, [email protected] , and IM me on AIM zspturbo.

and no it isnt hard to find an s13. its hard to find one in decent shape that is less than 2000. so for that reason I'm eliminating the decent shape criteria and reducing it to "tolerable shape".

and also Im ****ing done with patience. since all these damn magazines have started with the 240 articles, everyone wants one. 3 kids at my school have gotten one in the last couple months, and my school only has like 1000 kids.

Seriously though, try your local auto-trader papers (you know, those free magazine/books you find at resteraunts...)

why is it so cheap? I'll call today after school and check it out. if you can check it out for me, taking a road trip to check it out myself isnt out of the question, if everything sounds good over the phone. why is the guy hard to work with?

he's wierd, short little asian guy, slight temper, bad accent, etc, dunno, i never asked about it, they got a nice S14 too though, very low miles, SE, but yea, dunno, call and ask, let me know, i can go check it out, problem is, he's fussy bout test drives, he got sick of people taking em for fun and stuff, but yea, if u come here with the money in ur hand, u can test drive it no problem, if anything, i can look at it friday at the earliest, no school

I searched for 10 months before I found my car, and the one I bought was a car that I looked at during my second month of searching. It was too expensive then, but he lowered the price after so many months and I bought it. Figures, stubborn bastard.

Don't be desperet...Give it time...Let the car come to you. I didn't even know what a 240 was. My friend had it, I always liked it, then he asked me if I wanted to buy it for 3,500 bucks and I said sure.

if you dont take your time youll regret it, i did

im glad for it in the end, it was the only 240 around, and a coupe, which i wasnt crazy about at the time...if i had waited i wouldve got a hatchback,

in the end i wouldve paid less for more, but been stuck with a hatch, so i guess it all turned out ok.

Dude, no way!! Thats the guy I bought my 240 from! you're right about that guy too. he bareley speaks english and is hard to argue with, started to get pissed off at me towards the end cuz I kept trying to get him down another 100 bucks .wanted like 2600 originally, but I got him down to 1800 (not a great deal, but I think it was fair), . Mines in pretty good condition though, interior is flawless. it was the nicest one on the lot at the time, the other ones were pretty jacked up. I drove past there the other day and he had like 3 s13s and 2 s14s. Hes smart, really taking advantage of the 240 craze going on right now

There are plenty of nice 240's out there, even original owner ones. Just gotta keep your spirits up, widen your search, be prepared to travel, and above all, be patient. This year I sold my garage kept S-13 to an out of state buyer fand the only placed I advertised was NICO's Buy/Sell/Trade section. I think it's a pretty good source. Good luck
