This is my new car. My old s13 was great to me, took lots of abuse nicely but was pretty tired after the season. I decided to sell it and buy a s***ty winter beater and picked this thing up.
Bought the car after about 3 seconds of looking it over. No frame rust, no rocker rust, no hatch rust, and no sunroof. perfect. oh, except for a few s***ty dents. But that was reflected in the price.
I wanted a cleaner car than my last one. Frame repair sucks and so does fixing rust. Getting dents fixed is a lot easier.
Unfortunately I didn't have anywhere to work on it all winter so it sat at a friends house waiting for me. Come spring time I finally got to play with it.
when I brought it home
cheap cars have dents. and non-running ka's.
oh and broken springs!
I ended up putting in an alternator, removing a s***ty best buy alarm, putting on a door that wasn't totally dented and a new front fender. Got the car driving, remembered how much I hate automatic s13's.
DD'd the car for a few weeks hating it more and more. front struts were blown, rear toe was way out of whack from previous owner "drifting" into a curb.. all sorts of little problems.
Bought some rear toe links to fix the alignment, then ordered some low from the internet.
Don't mind my "bremo" brakes. Previous owner was a confused person.
low. ish.
Installed rear 5 bolt hubs and some s14 SE wheels for now
Then I got really tired of driving an Auto. Pieced together a 5 speed swap and did some work on a weekend.
Then I bought some wheels, got my front 5 lug together and finished rebuilding my z32 front brakes.
One saturday of hard work
Finally the car is coming together. Its fun to drive, looks pretty rad, and I don't hate it. I need a diff. Badly. I'm on the fence between a a s***ty VLSD or going full-c*** welded. I have a chance to get a kaaz 2 way right now... but its gonna cost a good penny.
Wheels are cheap. We all know A-tech/MB's are. Fitment is good enough for the summer and they'll make good drift spares when I get some nice wheels. No idea what I want yet, but I'm keeping an eye out for some AVS Model 5's in good size/offset. OEM Type x aero is on the want list but I don't know when that will happen.
In the mean time I'm just going to drive the car and have fun with it.
Here are the most recent pictures of the car.
