At 2:15 am I finished my install, checked out everything, brought up the oil pressure, checked for fuel leaks, and started her up! It actually started with no problems. Took it out for a spin, stayed out of boost though, and she ran just fine. I do have to say the turbo is pretty noisey, do most of you KA guys here the turbo spinning even when you are at idle? Its the td06-20g turbo in case you wanted to know. I will get pics and maybe video soon.

without pics , yeah you can hear the turbo some, if your exhaust doesnt have leaks like mine lol its funny you ask that, I have to make sure (visually look at my switch) my fans are on now, they make a close sound to the small t25 at idle...

I couldn't really ever hear mine either of mine at idle.. until my flex piping broke, then I ran an open downpipe and you could hear the turbo like crazy at idle, and sounded like a semi going down the road. woot.

Congrats. My TD06-20G is noisy also, I love it. You need to get on it a little, actually use the turbo. Have fun with it

Congrats man!!!I will be boosted next weekend, finally got all my parts in so I can do it all at once. Let us know what it feels like under boost as opposed to na. I've got a t25 so I don't know how that will compare.Anyway hope it all goes great for you (and for me too)

Congrats on the install, so how do you like the Greddy kit?? dame 2:15am must of been fun and interesting

I got to compression check my KA24DE, and then go from there, right now I know that one of the timing chain guides broke and was making noise. And I did not have any oil pressure, when I had the mechanical gauge connected on the stand. Looks like the dent in oil pan was the reason for that , but I got another pan(must of happened when I was transpoting it or moving it around). If the motor has a good comp, I will get the Greddy kit especialy since you mentioned its $2700+/-. If bad comp will have to rebuild it with lower comp pistons and aftermarket rods, and put some el-chipo kit together.

Need to see pics and possibly video of what it sounds like, by the way what exhaust system your running (my wish list exhaust is Blitz Nur Spec Cat-back) Did you get intercooler with it or just the kit?

To hook up E-manage you have to cut and solder your interior harness? ( do I understand that correctly, or is it plug and play? )

THANKS

By the way what rpm does this turbo hit what is it 7/8 psi, what psi is this kit set for 8psi.

sorry haven't got any pics or vids yet, spent all day cruising around. you do have to solder the emange in, but i didn't cut the wires (aside from the maf, you have to there) i just used wire strippers to expose the wire and wrap the emanage wire around then solder.

nice wiring style I learned that and always try to do it that way. saves tons of time if you remove... get them pics man or :ban

Congratz turbos a great. Just one thing some of those wires on your emanage needed to be cut and input to the emanage and output to the ecu i am not sure what u have it wired for exactly but it sounds like it went pretty smooth. Oh and if you can solder do it. .

So now just post some pics.

the only wire you need to cut is the maf wire, and i did solder everything, its so much nicer so you dont have to worry about loose wires. should have pics by this weekend got my defi boost gauge in so i will be wiring that up first and then pics.

Alright a few quick pics and a short clip of my gauge. Took them with my phone, and there is no sound. I'll try to get a friend of mine with a camera to shoot some good vid.
