Hi guys, I was on here last year when I had a pig nosed gold coupe but I ended up getting layed off and selling my baby to catch up on the mortgage then I found out the kid I sold it to totalled the car a few months later Anyways I kept my Tein basic coilovers and my 18" Sportsmax rims which I custom painted. Well I was finally able to get me another 240sx this year with some tax money. 93 240sx vert automatic of course but thats soon to change, I already have most of the 5speed conversion parts. I want to give a shout out to all who contributed to the the 5speed conversion stickie its a great write up so Ill be using it in conjunction with the Project Car Tuner Magazine issue # 10 to do my swap. I already cut my brake pedal to size, installed the clutch pedal, master cylinder and hardlines. All I need now is the 5spd flywheel & bell housing bolts to put my transmission in.

In the meanwhile I'm working out some bugs with the pwr windows I'm sure what in the hell the previous owner did when he backyard rigd the pwr windows. The only other problem I have is the top will only go down with the push of the button but don't wanna come back up on its own. I guess ill be doing some more research in these forums I did see a manual in here where it illustrates the different relays and such I just wish I knew where to start. Anyways I'll leave you guys with some pics 'cause I know thats what your're her for lol.

Let me know what you guys think 'bout the wheels, it's the first time I've done a pint job of sorts. The original clear coat was peeling real bad back when they were polished like in my signature so I decided to try my hand at custom painting it. Also my wheels are 18" sportsmax 225/40zr18 front and 245/40zr18 rears, my question is would 20mm front and 30mm rear fenders tuck my wheels? Let me know what ya think.

Future mods include a v8 swap later down the road either sbc or ls1 once I get the rest of the car where I want it.

Also does anyone have any pics of how this uras kit looks on a coupe or vert? thanks.

That's a nice looking vert. The wheels on it now are a big improvement than what was on there. Sorry I can't help you out with your questions, but someone else should be able to.

I'm starting my manual swap soon too though.

I usually pick it up at Walmart, it's a fairly new magazine, don't have as much advertisement and it deals with average peoples budget, I've been trying to keep up with it, issue #10 has a white 240sx coupe in front they're doing a budget drift build. Pretty detailed and very informative with plenty of pics. I still think the best thing you can do for your 5spd swap is to first read the stickie on this forum and pic up the magazine if your able to find it. It should answer most of your questions, like I said all I need to do with mine is install the transmission now as soon as I get some bolts.

Doesnt look so hot.

and you shouldnt need any over fenders for your wheels, a light roll would do you good.

DMAX Type 3 is the fire dude. if they had it for the r32, I would not have the kit that I do..(reference pic)

How ever, I do have a soft spot for the URAS Type S, but the rest of your car has to be on POINT. Wheels have to be much more aggressive and be negative cambered to death, and probably look into a B Wave style spoiler. you CAN pull it off, but like i said, EVERYTHING has to be right or it will look like the aforementioned trash.

good luck and keep us posted, it will be an interesting build either way

Lol- you all bring out some valid points, thanks for the input, I feel like im on the right track now. As far as the spoiler I've thought about something like a drag style wing or so. Maybe like this: or this

Hmmn, then I'll have to debate what to hang from the tow hook lol

the first spoiler shown is a B Wave style as I mentioned. The second wing looks to be a URAS low mount 3d wing. I agree both would look good with the Type S, how ever I would still go with the B Wave

They sell them at Kroger's Wal-mart gas stations etc. The issue out right now has a white 240sx drifting on the front. It will say Project Car in giant silver letters. They do low budget swaps and give tips on basics to like changing spark plugs etc. They take step by step pics of everything they do. You can't however get a subscription to the mag yet. So I just hunt for it everytime I go out to the store to see if the new one is out yet. They only make one every 2 months it's a sister mag to superstreet or something.

Anyhow on the main topic. The 2nd pair of rims look way better. Congrats on buying a vert!

one thing I meant to ask was, are the second set of wheels painted 962s? Thats what they look like, and I'm pretty sure I see Sport Max center caps. Either way, you should paint the full face, not diggin the thin stripe deal. Just mho though

That is correct they are painted 962's. It was my first time painting wheels and I just wanted to try something diffrnt to see what they looked like but I'll prolly be changing the paint design once I get some more paint and materials, I'm prolly gonna be smoking my tailights and side markers soon maybe I'll show you guys how to do that when I get around to it.

Right now I'm working on fixing some bullsh*t as wiring the previous owner did that is causing my pwr windows not to work, got a few wires and a relay all melted and sh*t with exposed wiring. Trying to keep my baby from catching on fire. I will be posting pics of a certain relay I need help locating, that sucker is fried cant read the freagin #'s on it, all I know is autozone don't carry it. It's a round black relay that attaches to the side of the breaker box under the dash which if I'm not mistaken is a pwr window relay. Like I said I'll try to post pics if I can't come accross it but by all means please chime in if you know what I'm talking about. Any cross refference #'s or part #'s where to get it will be very helpfull.

Well I fixed most of my wiring issues, the only thing I have left is the relay that makes the top go up and down, I can't seem to be able to find them anywhere if anyone can point me in the right direction. Mine only brings the top down but not up.

Onto the next subject. 5 Speed Conversion is DONE! Finally. It took me a few days since I was by myself and had to wait for help to get here once I was removing and installing the transmission which was the biggest P.I.T.A! On top of that it was the first time I ever done any transmission work myself. Between the Project Car magazine issue with the 240sx 5spd swap and the info you guys have on the stickies and everything went pretty well. Thanks Guys.

I still gotta work out a couple of small bugs like my speedo don't wanna work some reason even though it's hooked up, but it might be due to the previous wiring problems I had. I also have a quick question though, for some reason my second gear grinds every time I go to shift into it. What causes that?
