Hello everyone. I have decided to return to NICO after a swift break. I work at NSPerformance in Spartanburg, SC. We specialize in Nissan builds of any kind, with some randoms under our belt as well. My personal vehicle is a 180SX with Type X aero and interior. It has an SR20DET with an S15 turbo, 300 maf, 550 inj., rare old school apexi single piece exhaust, nismo flywheel, nismo stage 1 clutch (that won't blow for some reason), A/C (hollllaaaa), and a ton of nice jdm goodies! The car is truly mint, origin 30mm rear overfenders, kei office coilovers, 18x9.5 & 10.5 Enkei RPF1's. Custom two tone, first kouki I've seen done this way, and it's all my work. I hope you guys enjoy it, I will have to get some interior pics tomorrow.

Nice horn button.
I'm liking how the RPF-1s look on your car!

Thanks man, I love my datsun button. I still have my nardi torino one but I can't bring myself to change it. I think in a few months I might look into some more wheels. I like the rpf1's a bunch but change is always fun.

There's also Dinitrol and Dynax S50...but I can't seem to find it anywhere in North America.

And apparently they're not safe to ship via plane or by sea from the UK ><

Eastwood has one too, called internal frame coating, but no one has really compared it to Mike Sander's or Dynax S50.

Yeah, I can get Eastwood product pretty cheap through my shop and I've run across that a few times. I might have to look into it a bit.

Just stay away from WaxOyl.

It was one of the first ones to come out, it was good back in its day, but it's pretty much useless today.

Way better products out there.

Found some pics of when I first got it over in the states and my build process. Enjoy!

Day one, had a sil front end.
Image

New front end and paint.
Image

Kei Office Coilovers and S15 Spec R brakes with Brembo slotted rotors. Obviously a 5-lug conversion as well.
Image

The old grody motor it came with. Made a whopping 312 wheel on that excessively large ebay turbo. That whole swap came out in a heartbeat.
Image

New rear subframe, the old one was very worn out.
Image

Painting done. On a set of Rays Engineering wheels until I found the Enkei's.
Image

Then the new motor caught on fire. This setup was right at 550 whp on 25psi and had a 100 shot of zex on top. I learned that this was far beyond what an s-chassis needed to be balanced and fast.
Image

Image

Image

But she is daily driven now, no more fires and low-quality parts. Good quality = sustainability.

I have way more pics but I figured I wouldn't bore you!

Sweet car, but who in this area does tuning, and more specifically is familiar with sr's? (and don't say tdc, I would prefer that my car continues to run)

NSPerformance located in Spartanburg. It's my shop, we've been in business for 13 years doing just this. We have the nicest builds in the area. Stop by sometime if you'd like to check it out. We carry tons of factory parts, aftermarket parts and anything related to an S chassis.

Car caught fire because the dump tube wasn't routed far enough down and a nice size flame mixed with pre-existing heat caused something (most likely a rubber grommet) to catch fire. It spread... well... like wildfire after that. The nice people in the gas station right next to where it happened "had no fire extinguisher" and refused to assist. Luckily a man in an 18 wheeler stopped and put it out with his extinguisher. Then the fire dept showed up to help shove the car out of everyones way. BAD DAY

HA! I guess they finally screwed up enough cars that they had to change their name to stay in business. They tried to blame me for burning up a guy's spit fire coil packs, turns out they messed up a nistune install and then refused to talk to the guy once I 100% proved that it was their fault. :tisk:

Well I can't comment on that situation, they are local so we try to respect each other for gentlemen's sake. That being said, I fix a car coming from there at least once a week. I won't specify any cases but it happens quite often. We are mainly in the Nissan/Infiniti/Subaru/Toyota game though, so our customer base is a bit different. You should really come check it out, you would like it. We are old fashioned and we know SR's like the back of our hands. It's just me and one other guy so it's pretty low key, but we keep sweet cars around!

My work schedule right now is pretty crappy, so I don't have time to do anything other that eat, sleep, and s***. I have wanted to swing by and check the place out though.

I have a buddy that use to call you guys looking for something every other week, then he gave up and bought a 350z and left his car sitting in the back yard at my work shop, and the only thing he needs to make the car run is a engine harness.

Josh,

As the original owner of this 180SX I'd like to thank you and David for making this car look awesome, and for making it faster and run a lot better. I'm glad that you guys have hung onto it for so long and not traded it for something else. Even though I miss this car to death, it's great to know that it's in good hands :dblthumb:
Can't wait to see more pics of it in the future
