Well as some may know and as some may not care, I sold my TT last X-mas to get some much needed loot. Like most, I almost instantly regretted it, especially as spring and summer rolled on through. Well a few weeks ago I came across this "gem" of a Z. It's a 1990 NA 2+0, black with a mostly black suede interior with some original tan panels, seats and carpet. The body is fairly straight with exception of the metal below the tails (which I pushed out post-pictures) and the driver side extreme rear corner is full of puddy, but done well nonetheless. Oh and there is some minor rust below and around the trunk floor (which I plan to cut out and replace). The pictures detail most of what I did in the short days I have had it. I plan to strip out the interior and make it a rather agressively trimmed down street/track car. I have NO plans to make this into a trailer queen, daily driver etc. I do wish to be able to drive it legally whenever I want and be able to race it as often as I can (time/budget permitting).I need some help, I have NO experience in making such a car into a race machine, and even less of an idea of what to do when removing wiring systems/grounds etc. If there are any referrals one can make please do, if there is anyone who wants to come help me out and be given food and drinks please do. I live in the NE area of MD in Bel Air. The car is stored at friends house which has a garage, air, mig, and more. I plan to only have it there for a few months and it will then be moved to an army shop maintenance facility. Also most of the parts I will be removing will eventually end up forsale (formally at some point), so if you see anything in these pictures you want make an offer for now, prices will be set later...not bad for a camara phone.

Sounds like a fun project, and me thinks you'll get lots of help here. Good luck!

Looks a little rough, but good luck with it. It'll be worth it in the end. Z32's FTW!

Hey idriveaTTz32, I'm basically on the same path as you, but I probably won't have as much of a strip down as you. Keep me updated and let me bounce ideas up and back off of you.

I have however reduced weight -Spare Tire-Some Trunk trim-My rear seat in my 2+2-Got a rear mount battery for weight distribution-Starting to trade in old engine parts for newer light weight ones

I got a whole basic list of things to take weight off any ride, email me if you want it man.

BTW whats your goal for weight? mine is 2900 and stock 2+2 is about 3413

i already know that on a tt setup you can remove anywhere between 300-500lbs with some streetablity left over while still maintaining some HVAC controls. I plan to run without A/C but maintain heating controls at least for now. I want to strip the inside down for numerous reasons, to paint it is the main one, the other is to ultimately remove most of it and either leave it out completely or replace with some sort of composite (FG or CF). I'm going to be adding a lot bracing and removing a lot of metal at the same time, so I hope to be around that 2900lb mark as well. I want this car to still be street legal and "somewhat comfortable" to drive. I figure I'm already at 200-300lbs lighter based on what I have removed.
