Well, just picked up my second CA18 today, traded some Z brakes, OEM sideskirts, and $300 for a complete swap. The catch is, the thing is completly torn apart, lol. I have all the parts (supposidly), and all the new stuff you should do, bearings, seals, etc. I'm planning on a metal headgasket and some ARP studs while I'm down there, The block has already been re-honed, anyone else think of things I should upgrade while I'm down there? I'm not looking for a monster motor, just reliable and willing to take abuse without complaint. And daily drive. So anyways, I am back in the CA game

Gonna have new oil and water pumps of course, Hmmmmmmm, Maybe I'll have to look into pistons. I wonder if they would really be necessary. I don't know, I had stopped keeping up with CA new last year, lol.

Not necessary, but if you are already in there, it is a great insurance policy. If I was in your shoes, I sure as hell would get some pistons!

Yea, I just figured this was my lucky break, only $300 out on my part, and it came with most of the rebuild stuff, and the block has already been re-honed. I'm going to keep looking for a cheap long block, if I can find one, I'll use all my accesories and get it in the car while I am building this one.

Yea, I got Cole's old engine. I had promised myself no more engines for a while, but it was a good deal. This weekend hopefully I'll go through everything and see what I have, what I need, etc...
