I would either put your spare on or swap front to back to see what affect it has on the vibration. If the vibration goes away I would replace the wheel which I know will be expensive, but is good insurance that hidden damage to it will not bite later. The rest of your suspension needs to be checked out for the same reasons. If you try to get this fixed by insurance then you may have to explain what having fun means.camtech wrote:So I just picked up my 09 G37xS two weeks ago and I've been having some fun with it, well tonight I was having too much fun and wound up hitting a curb. It was one of those slopped curbs and not those vertical ones. I was going pretty fast, I'd say 60-70mph but maybe a little slower I braked pretty hard before hitting it. I hit it at an angle with my front and back tire, my back rim and tire is completely fine but my front one is scratched pretty good. On the way driving home I could feel a slight vibration in the steering wheel but it didn't pull to the side at all, it stayed perfectly straight when i let the wheel go.
I'm going to go get it checked out right away but was just wondering what your thoughts are on it or how much it could cost to fix.
here's a couple pics
Lesson learned, I'm not going to be doing that again
Personnally with the type of damage I see and the description of vibration I would not trust that wheel on one of my cars. That being the case my next order of business is to carefully check everything else.camtech wrote:hopefully nothing is wrong with it, meanwhile this might give me a reason to go rim shopping
