I am referring to the one between the manifold and the turbine. This made an awful noise anywhere above 0 bar. Never belive someone when they tell you they can do the swap for $500 after the price of the motor. They will seriously screw you over. Thanks to this however I was able to design a really nice one off blacktop 90 fastback i/c setup. I hand picked the motor so that was the only good part. the point is, know what you are getting into and trust your sr to NOBODY. If you don't know how to fix something on it, learn! No question though, SR all the way!

So you're saying that my friend was stupid to pay me $300 and lunch/dinner for a few days to do his SR swap, which is running beautifully and he should have paid a shop 1000+ to do it?

Hrm... Try going with someone that knows what they are doing and/or is reputable.

If you got a 1300 SR and didn't have problems out the *** with it consider yourself VERY lucky. You might want to plan a trip to Vegas or maybe play the Lotto.

Erm...actually i'm selling them. I'm dealing with worldwide shipping and the shipping costs about USD$350 to USD$400. This will include start up engine, compression test and turbo oil leak =)

350-400 "shipped to my nearest port?" and then I get to pay another 275 to get it shipped to my house? Or is that door to door.

so true no one ever has a nice thing to say about buying motors from mayalsia. its like buying off Ebay. sure it might work but never worth the risk.

don't try to save money, try to build a nice car.If you try to take shortcuts, you will pay for it in the end. You also almost always get what you pay for in the automotive world. Unless you buy a ford escort!

1) Whats your store's name?2) What is your address? (physicall location, not website)3) Do you offer tech support? 4) Do you guarentee replacement of bad parts that ship with the engine? 5) Do you have any buisness refrences?

If you cant awnser those questions than anybody that has even a ounce of intelligence wont buy from you.

no. i actually put too much trust into somebody who thought they know it all. a lot of people think they do.

If I were you I would do the swap yourself, it isn't hard and you need to know about your engine if you want any sucsess with it.

I am at the last, final stretch on my SR swap. I have done everything except the harness conversion myself. I had only changed oil and stuff on my KA before that. IMO is it that bad? No, but it depends. I like learning and figuring stuff out, and I'd hateto feel like an idiot and not know about my own swap. What you should do is (this is what I did): find a lift rental space near you and make friends with the owner/mechanic. Do the swap there and in case you need any help they can help you a little if you get stuck. Now I am already pretty familiar with the SR and my car as a whole.I this sways your decision at all:I practically sold my soul to afford it.I have been riding my bicycle and walking for 7 weeks now. There were times I ate Ramen for a week because all my money was going into lift/tool rental fees.My wiring took one month from ship to receipt date.I installed a BUNCH of extra stuff and it still only took me 9 days of actual work-alone.Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not. And I don't even have it running yet.Have you taken a ride in an SR swapped 240 pushing 14psi? If you need any more convincing, do that. That's what did it for me. I grinned, swore, and said "I knew I've wanted an SR for the part three years, but I had no idea I wanted one this bad!" So here I am six months later with about 2 hours worth of work left to get it running. I can't afford another day in the shop for who knows how long. All I need is about 2 hours... I'm broke... But when it happens, it'll all be worth it...
