I'm really happy. Today I passed my life and health insurance state test so that I can start my new job. I'm a wee bit tipsy from celebrating, but I'm happy. I will soon be an official scumbag life insurance salesman. Anyone want me to act like their friend and then try and sell them insurance? I CAN HELP!

Better than a health insurance salesman. Death is usually not a pre-existing condition.

In just a couple days. I'll be living with a friend in Decatur until I can afford a place of my own near work (Sandy Springs). I'll be working just about right across the street from the Perimeter Mall.

I'm doing both life insurance and health insurance. We call health insurance "accident and sickness insurance" here in Georgia though.

WIN!!! Nice Joel!!! I was so tempted to drive to Punxitawney PA this year for groundhogs day. Just to celebrate the movie of course... One of these years.. Since I'm only a few hours away it seems like something I should do once in my life. Like going to the soapbox derby races in Akron.. pretty cool to do and see once.

Congrats sbird! Life insurance can be a good racket if you're willing to put the time in and do a lot of networking and soliciting referrals.

Congrats! Always good to hear about people moving up in the employment world these days.

I dunno, that could explain the complete lack of cerebral function in most of the world population.

No, it's called public education. Teach to the test, crush all independent thought, and try not to get fired.

Please tell me you're gonna do the right thing and sell term life policies (not "whole" or "return of premium") to people?

BTW, for the rest of you: If you've got a kid and/or a wife and you DON'T have a fat term life policy, you're an idiot. Yes, I said it. AN IDIOT. DO it TODAY.

Its smarter to get term life and handle your long term savings and investments separately, but most people don't have the knowledge or focus to do it. A whole life policy is like a warm blanket for people who don't have the discipline to save.

Of course, the wisest thing to do is get some discipline and rudimentary knowledge of personal finance.

Or, not die. I'm looking into that option; building myself a body out of old Skyline parts and planning on downloading my consciousness to a rewired Power FC.

Oh, yes. I will be selling all of it. Whole life, term, permanent, modified, as well as annuities and various health plans. If any of you are looking into anything, you should let me know. Regardless of what state you live in, I can help! And you're better off buying from someone you more or less know. Plus, I'm not a total douche bag. Only partially.

:yesnod

There's not a whole life policy in existence that will ever outperform a good set of mutuals, and they sure as hell aren't gonna support you in your old age.

Keeping your investments separate is easier for the ignorant and undisciplined if you let your employer handle it.
