Hondas... I'm sorry but i'm really getting tired of my 240... its gone through 3 motor swaps and now its even worse... Just replaced timing chain guides and the lil pieces are stuck from the old one in the canals for the oil... i'm sorry to say but with the a s s h o l e s that continue to buy 240's and with whats going on with the import scene in general.. i'm fed up and exhausted... i'm retiring the 240 soon and buying a truck.. i just felt the need to get that off my chest...

Are you swapping old used engines in or something? Mine has 263k miles on it, runs like a dream.

You know you've always got a buyer;) I can almost promise you that I'll get it back running better than stock.

Although I do know how you've driven that car...

Because he didn't know they were broken, and he didn't have time to rebuild the engine before he put it in.

Every other honda does? I'm honestly not trying to be a d***, just stating a fact, but that comment "blow your engine like every other honda does" is pretty ignorant. Can you honestly say every honda blows its motor at the track? Honda's, if properly done, are some of the meanest cars on the road and you know it! Integra's own at the autox course, lil crx's with swaps and some NA work are beasts on the 1/4, all while being some of the most reliable cars on the road. Granted if some stupid kid rags on it and doesn't maintain it it probably wont last as long as it would have normally, but thats when you gotta look past the fact that its a honda and DO look at the fact that the owner of said honda was just a duesche bag.

Trust me i know honda motors can be built here.. we have a shop here in orlando that got a 1.8 Turbo to run a qtr in 10seconds.. go vids to prove it as well.. but i want reliability at a cost i can afford.. i'm sorry i've done the 240 for a year now.. first off i'm getting quite tired of seeing them everywhere.. tired of people asking if i have an SR swap.. and tired of being build over.. i just want a stock car to drive back and forth to work and school.. and not have to pray everytime i get in my car if its gonna make it or not..

canadian models different from CAlifornia/usa models...

ie not AC, Viscous lsd standard!, daytime runnin lights, fixed seat belts instead of our cumbersome passive motorized seat belts, etc <i forgot what else are different>

think about anther transplant; RWD w/ better-than-truck gas mileage is getting rare

I like any other japanese-made cars...honda crx was my 1st choice d/t mileage close to my motorcycle @ the time...but got lucky & got this car b4 it became 'poplular' ('96)

You might get tired of seeing them because you own an s13 :pface There are a few more of those around.

And you think there are less Honda's around than 240's? Especially swapped honda's, good Lord just about every dam civic I see has some type of "swap."

Well i mean i know hondas aren't rare... and neither are 240s now ... but when i sit there and drive a somewhat stock 240 and see all these damn ricers making my car look like s h i t it makes me mad let alone remember why i'm getting out of this scene anyways.... but its really not that at all.. its the fact that this motor was replaced 3 times now... and this motor didn't even last for a month without something going wrong in it... I'm just tired of putting money into a car that is always in need of maintaining everyday. i've had my car for a year and 4 months now... i say i'm pretty much done with it... and for the money i'ma get for it... i'm going to get something with a bit more reliablity to it....

Always remember you get what you pay for. I dunno if you are doing the work to your motor or whatever, but if you are, then you are doing something wrong!!!!

Dont give up on the 240 man, lookat it this way. Do you seriously want to start driving a front wheel drive torqueless piece of metal? Seriously.

Just get the 240 running, which i have faith you can do, and just be satisfied with knowing that you have a car that lots of people want, and not everyone can have.

Corolla all the way...

or a Toyota pickup, they're bullet-proof. Sorry to hear your'e having trouble. The Ka's aren't prissy engines like Porsches but they ain't Toyota engines either. Good luck in the future

it's a crapshoot: some are lucky w/ the previous owner not beating it up/ keeping immaculate maintenance schedules & what-not...

while others like u & umm, altimaman get a crappy car w/ a bad engine/rust holes or some other ailment...

applies to any used car... hope u r gonna find a honda that has been 'pampered' w/, but i doubt it

ya i've been replacing the motors my self.. but its not how i'm putting them in.. its always something internal that goes... the first motor blew froma spun bearing and throwing the rod... second motor blew from spun bearing seizing up.. and the results are whats in my cig.. that is a pic of what my second motor looked like.... and third is this timing chain guide getting sucked up into the motor.. i just wanna cry.. i love the car to death and yes with the vlsd... its fun as hell to drive but when it is drivable.. theres always a doubt in my mind of whether the car will run the next day and i hate having to deal with it... being a full time student and having a full time job.. too much stress for me to deal with.. i would rather trap myself in payments with a new car but have the sense of security that i have a warrenty ... some of you may understand and some not but this is what my problem is....

if it's just the engine that's a problem & the rest of the car is in good shape <according to your sig pic, it looks immaculate>

Y not just get a Jasper remanufactured engine? that way, u lock in the warranty as well as having lower payments than a new car w/ comprehensive insurance...

Jack, just keep the 240. I have an sohc up here that I'm pretty sure will work with some minor coaxing. And I'll make sure the damn thing doesn't blow up on you.
