Hi. My wife's Irish band had a gig an hour out of town tonight so I went for a drive to watch. I havent had the Q on the highway for a month or so, and just really enjoyed the ride. The current q is a 96T, with pearl paint.

This is my second Q, and my Z31 turbo started the love affair with Nissan products. Driving back I was reminded how much I love this car and started listing off the reasons, and had to post before I rack out.

1) Very capable engine, smooth as silk but more than adaquate power, fun to drive.

2) awesome steering feel.

3) Driving over the frost heaves and the tar lines on the highway, was pure joy. It rides so nicely, you feel the road, but it rides so nice.

4) My seat is perfectly adjusted, I love the seat, and my heated a** felt nice.

5) I set the temperature on the HVAC and never touched it again the whole way. awesome.

6) the stock bose stereo is all I could ever want for my listening tates. I can crank my tunes without distortion, and the sound is awesome (for my tastes in music)

7) I never get tired of looking at the gauges. They are classic.

8) I cruise at 120KM/hr (75MH) and the RPM is under 2500 and I never hear the engine running, and no downshifts on hilly bits. Hard to find such a nice highway gear in any car.

9) I think the car waxed, with the pearl paint, looks deadly.

10) when I check the clock, its like looking at a nice watch.

11) The traction control, while primitive by today's standards, has kept me out of the ditch on the highway a number of times. Plus I can turn it off in the city, when I dont want the engine cutting out while merging in traffic on slippery roads.

12) it cost less than a 1/3 of a new kia.

13) Nobody knows what it is.

14) It makes me happy every time I drive it.

15) I could go out and buy a new car, but have no desire to. This car is laid out perfectly and they thought of everything. It has features comparable to a decent new car, but is just so classy, I wont be driving anything else for a while.

Nice rant about your Q...

The Q has been good to me since I picked her up last summer. Here's my 2 cents on my G50:

We just recently sold our 95 Nissan 200sx for $500. OMFG what a piece that car was. Bear in mind it was a 1.6L, auto, base model. Trimline aside, the build quality of this 200 was one of the poorest I've experienced. The paint was terrible, interior chincy, some unusual electrical problems, and good luck climbing up any hill or passing someone on the freeway. Only positive was mpg, which is not top on my list when assessing a car's value IMO. (Which is probably why I decided to buy a Q.) Overall, I'm happy to see the 200sx gone, after 160k miles of POS madness.

So now that I've been driving the Q since last summer, I can certainly appreciate a very well-built car. It's truly unfair to compare an entry-level model to a flagship, but my Q is one year older than the 200. The stock pearl paint still gleams after 14/15 years?!, the interior is excellent overall, electrics and mechanics so far so good, and the smooth power on demand is juicy and succulent!

P.S. The other day I had to reach over and slap my co-worker's face when he asked where the cupholders were. Then he asked why the center console faced me and not the center so I elbowed him in the ribs.

Yes the Q is a beautiful vehicle. I enjoy it.

I will return to this post to remind myself how much I like it when I am up to my elbows in it and losing chunks of my knuckles.

Thanks for the comments.
