I know, Im a dumb *** ect ect..

but what can I do? I dont have any copies, my doors are locked, and the weather stripping on my car is kinda old so its stiff, so I cant seem to get anything down there...

My brother told me that honda can make keys with a vin number, can nissan do this too? (I would just call but today is a holiday..)

also I know that my key starts my freinds nissan pickup, so Im assuming his key would start my car, but I doubt it would open the doors. My ignition is worn down, I can take my key out and put it back in while the car is running. So I guess Ill try and figure out a way of getting in the car (without paying a locksmith 50$, or breaking a window) and use another key for now without locking my car, then go to nissan when they are open and see if they will make me a key?

A nissan dealer might be able to make you a key, but you got an s13 so it kind of old and they might no keep records for that long. good luck.

there is a thread about keys on the general forum. he said he called nissan and you need the 4 digit number on the inside of the glove box.

That reminds me of a story...

A few months ago, I lost one of my keys to the 240. I didn't sweat it because I still had my valet key.. and I've been using that ever since.

On Friday, I walk outside the garage door, and I just happen to look down at the ground, and lo and behold.. is my missing key. The elements browned the metal a bit.. but it works. That just goes to show always find **** when you're not looking for it.

Good luck solving your problem. When some students lock their keys in their car, the dean has a little piece of metal that he slides inbetween the window and door and unlocks the door that way. You just keep sliding the metal until you hit the sweet spot that unlocks the door.

i didnt have a key code for my current 240. so i took it to nissan anyway, thinking id get an oem nissan key (where it says nissan on the top of the key), but they gave me an aftermarket one... and it still cost me like FREAKING TWENTY BUCKS

stupid dealership. when you get your key out, take it to any lock smith and get a copy for like $3

You have to get the VIN from the glove box. I found this out with my last S13. As for the S14 its not in the glove box and I gave Nissan my VIN and they could get a key cut. I broke my key earlier this morning on my 95 and that was my only one.

i went through this, but i backtracked and found em. i have an '89 didnt see any code in the glovebox. dealer said no can do after 10 years. if you can get into the car maybe you could take out the glove box and bring it to a locksmith shop. they might be able to make a set from the lock. just guessing. good luck i feel your pain.

eh. good luck with the dealer.

they can only copy keys, but not make keys even with a VIN.

What's that glovebox 4 number deal?

that little piece of metal is called a slim jim. But I once used a coat hanger to open the door of my maxima when I locked me keys inside.
