Just thought I'd post my thoughts tonight. I was driving back from a chevelle concert (awesome btw) tonight with 2 friends when a blue 95-96 model 240 pulls up next to me as we're driving. We both have mods an stuff and can tell we're into our 240s. He just looks over at me, smiles, nods his head and says "whats up man". I do the same to him, and then we both drive off in different directions. My point is that since our cars are pretty rare and we love our 240s so much, there is no hostility on the road, its just cool. If two tricked out civics pulled up to each other in the same situation, they'd try to give the meanest look of death at each other, rev their 1.6 liters, and try to race each other. I think its pretty cool how the 240 community is different from the other car ones. Dunno how it happened that way but thats the way it is, unique, just like our cars. My friends made fun of me but they don't know how it is cause *gasp* they don't own a 240. Feel free to add additional insights. Later all.

I've been in similar situations.

But I also often cringe when I see some chick, talking on her freaking cell phone, driving an auto S14 or something...

VW community is much tighter then the 240 community. Probably cuz half of them are high and ready to be friends with everyone, but there isn't a cooler group then rollin' with the dubs.

Here in Utah, the 240sx is pretty rare, and whenever i see someone driving one i always try and talk to them. Every time i've talked to someone, they are really cool guys and love their car. It's awesome. Its like holy cow he's got an S13, whats up man? Try doing that with a Honda. "Holy cow he's got a civic!" When everyone in the car stops laughing, a sarcastic "No way! Who?!?" Freak, every other car is more common than a 240sx around here. (i'm talking 89-98 era cars) I've had one for about 2 months and have seen maybe 4 others at the very most, one is my new friend's. When you daily drive a particular car, you notice every single [insert car you drive here] on the road.

Yeah same deal here. Ive been seeing this 89-90 S13 driving around town all summer and I finally caught him last weekend at Blockbuster-- he was real cool, told me he was startin up a local 240 club and was raving about how he's gonna get the SR soon... ahhh sounds just like me. I told him about NICO and he said he'd check it out.

Then again I saw a riced out S14a tonight on the turnpike, red with blue neons underneath and everything, huge NISSAN window banner... arugh I didnt talk to the guy because I didnt know if I'd be able to not call him out on putting stupid s*** on his car... It's all good though.

I love the big banners people put on cars that state their car make. Like the "Powered by Honda" stickers. WTF is it gonna be powered by? Yeah it's late and I'm tired.

I have noticed the same thing with other 240 owners as well and another close knit group is those crazy rotor heads, just kicked it last night with a bunch of them and they are crazy a$$es. These two car groups are definitely a cool group of people. I think it's the uniqueness factor that separates us from those so called "normal people " -Jeromy

i agree with sideshow. around my college town, the majority of 240 owners are girls that wouldnt know a car from a soggy box of crackers, but the guys with 240s around here pretty much all know each other.. all 6 of us. we hang out wit hthe local car club and do our own 240 thing when we can. the autocross weekends are our fav times to get together and show off ;)

Tonight the Utah County 240sx club (so far has me and my friend Andrew in it) went driving around, and we saw a nicely repainted SOHC s13 out front of some guys house, we knocked the door and talked to him. Another cool college student kinda guy. Then my friend wanted to stop and talk to these other car guys (Honda guys) we roll up and get out, they ask us right off the bat, Are any of those Turbo? Do you have an SR20? We tell them the sad truth that were both still stock. But the rice crowd has embraced the SR20 at least. Good thing im droppin a CA in.

HAHA I chased down SHiFT today as I saw him in my neck of the woods and this thread stuck out. I know every 240 in this area and he wasnt one of them, and took a chance it was SHIFT, as I had never seen or personally met him, but remembered the s14 from his signature.

I saw him pass by me on the other side but pull a U'y a ways back. I was in the turning lane to go east bound on the interstate, but just stopped in the lane and waited till he passed, and then I jumped up behind him. I then followed him westbound on the interstae till the next exit and got off, and followed him into the gas station :) Turns out my hunch was correct and it was him.

Funny how he mentions the 240 community then gets chased down by me. I was going to post if I saw him out in orlando I would give him a nod as well, but I got one better.

Good times.

Very cool!

Need to get 2 or more 240's to go out "on the hunt" to represent NICO nd pull in some new members...

I wish there was another AZ Q owner to hang out with here... :(
