So last night was the first night I took my QX4 to the desert. And let me tell you that thing will go places my old 2001 wrangler would go. Super soft sand just about anything. And considerin that it's summer the sand is not packed down so it's very very soft. :ohno: but it handled very well. I only have the stock size tires on it and still went everywhere. I can't imagine what's it's gonna be like in the winter time when the sand is all packed down. :woot: I'll let you guys know how my next adventure goes :wavey: :wavey:

That sounds like fun :chuckle: Once I get my new brakes broken in I'm hoping to go find some trails too. Post some pics the next time you go!

Ever since I went my high beams flash on for like .5 of a second then off while I'm driving with my low beams on. I don't know what happened.

Sounds like either a grounding issue or a bad switch (the steering wheel stalk). Check underneath for anything obvious like pinched or shredded wires. If that didn't turn anything up and you can find a switch on eBay for less than $20 it may be worthwhile to swap another one in.

So where could I check for the grounding issues?

Start at the headlights and start tracing the wires back as best you can. Look for wires and connections that are melted, frayed, corroded, etc. I believe the way the lights work is 12v is supplied to the light at all times, and the switch simply connects the ground. So, if the wire that goes from the switch to the bulb shorts against the body at all it completes the circuit.

BUT before you do that, I had an idea. Take a look at the relay that controls the high beams. I've heard that they can get loose in their old age and randomly click on like you're describing. Give it a shake and if it rattles at all, replace it. If that checks out, do a Google search for testing relays and do some diagnostics on it.
