on Friday morning at 3:30 am a lamp in my living room shorted out and caught my house on fire. My roommate and I escaped and there were no serous injures. except for my right ankle, with has swollen up to look like a foot ball. Ok enough with the words here are some pictures and a news paper article.

That's crazy. Your foot looks like when I broke mine a few years back. I broke 4 of the 5 bones in the middle of my foot. What did you do? Glad you're ok.

According to the newspaper article, the house had a fire sprinkler system that prevented too much damage?

I did not realize that a private home residence could have sprinkler systems installed ... hmmm. Was this an apartment building with multiple units?

It's becoming quite popular now actually, and in some residential zones, sprinkler systems are part of town code. It's a really good thing in my opinion, because it really does save a hell of a lot more than you would think at the onset of a fire.

nope its a single family home. the fire fighters said we would of lost the whole house if we didnt have the sprinklers.
