The problem is that good filters have a check valve in them that holds oil in the filter for cold starts. When you pull them off, the oil will come back out the way it went in, and you have about a half a filter's worth of oil stuck in there.numbnuts240 wrote:rofl, you guys like nuts on page 69 . anywho, i read somewhere that if you drill a hole in the bottom of the filter while the oil is draining (this is of course with a relocation kit and the filter bottom side up), that the oil will drain out of the filter making a lot less mess when you take it off. i can't say for sure if it works since i don't have a relocation kit, but it seems to make sense.
