I don't know rotaries well enough. I would love to have an FC, but I just don't have the time or money to spend tinkering with it when something goes wrong. If something goes wrong with the Miata (unlikely) I know how to fix it.

Alright I gotcha.

I know I could figure out how a rotary worked and how to fix, I just don't have time to spend adventuring around inside figuring out what does what. EMT classes take up lots of time.

Rotaries are actually incredibly simple, and an ingenious design. Learning how to fix it wouldnt be a big problem, but finding time to fix it repeatedly when you need to drive to work/school/etc. could be an issue. The power to weight ratio out of rotaries is amazing though.

I would love to get one sooner or later. My uncle used to have an FD and that thing hauled ballz. It would also just be fun to open her up and go exploring, just so I know what's up. Unfortunately, it will have to come later on when I'm actually an EMT and getting paid more. Then I can start up some projects.

The cool thing is if you decide to pull the motor, all you have to do is remove the wiring, disconnect the lines and mounts and then you and a buddy can just lift the damn thing out with your bare hands. They are so small and light.
