Imagine this. You are busy. You receive this letter that you are not entirely sure it's related to you. It's full of text. Are you likely to read it?
Um, if they're not sure it's for them then they're stupider than everyone. I'm sending it to the FEEDBACK EMAIL. For Feedback. And I start of by saying it's feedback. I'm not going to send it to some random dude hoping it makes it's way to the right people. And I'm not going to not make my point just so it's easy to read. If that's too hard for them to read, my entire point is proven.
Dattebayo wrote:That's great, MoD, but you should understand that double-white lines are not un-crossable. It is only DOUBLE-YELLOW lines that you may not cross. The double-white lines are the soft version of the yellow ones, meaning crossing is allowed, but they are there only to let you know there is some kind of "legal" barrier.

Sorry, but that is a major problem with your letter.
Nope. They are un-crossable. There are signs at regular intervals saying "DO NOT CROSS DOUBLE WHITE LINE." There's also a radio ad playing now talking about these exact new Davis County HOV lanes stating that you CANNOT leave or enter the HOV lane except where the line is broken (dotted).

The problem with that is the broken line areas are short and far too few and too far between.

Well that's not how the DOT rules are. I wonder how one county can overrule a law that is still in act everywhere else in the country?

That's a state-wide thing. And, actually, to my knowledge it wasn't that way a few years ago when the first HOV lanes appeared in the state. It was implemented a little while after. I think the DOT wants to prevent passing of the slow bungholes who plug the lane up. Sounds like something UDOT would do. They're idiots. I wasn't joking when I made the comments in the letter about them forgetting roads are for getting people places. They probably think they're supposed to make the drive challenging for more points or something.

Also, I'm 99% sure the only reason those lanes exist is to cater to the hippie hybrid-driving crowd and the pro-carpool dipoars who actually think people in this semi-rural area all work and live next to each other.

Maybe if the stupid city would make some trains that run east-west from the main north-south lines so you can actually GET somewhere from them I'd take the trains. It's kind of irritating: I can take trains from a mile from my house to the street my office is on. 14 blocks west of the cross street my office is also on. YAY.

Just saying if you want something done and more people to read it. The shorter the better. To the point that is.

Just how it works. They only get what they need to get done and cut out the rest. You are unknown and the letter is too long and I got other things more important to do...Um.. pass.... it's not stupidity... it's psychology of human thinking.. ... face it we are lazy...

My sound is uncopypastable. Teh boobzorz aren't here just yet. We gotta wait for Marenta to bring them to us. Unless you wanna check out the Jail bait thread. ****'s freaking hot. Even though in one of the recent posts somebody went way too far...posting CP...that was just wrong, but other than that, page 3 has some hot chicks on it.

Oh, I see your point. But I also need to make mine. This letter is the culmination of a lifetime of frustrations with the supreme morons at UDOT. They NEED someone with a brain to tell them how things work. It's quite clear that no one in charge of these things ever actually drives on the roads.

Actually, I just did a US wide search on the law, and there isn't any statute for double white at all. In fact, I believe anyone who gets caught in that trap you described there may be able to get off a ticket pretty easily. I'm meeting with the lawyer to sign some papers for work in a little bit, I'll ask him since that sort of thing is within his knowledge. Sometimes it's good to work for a corporation.

Can't you fools say anything other than "Hi guys!!" every time you start the morning?"

I just did a seach for "hi guys" and it appears in this thread like 40 times per person.

My friend sold his car 2 years ago and has gone nuts over the last 6months trying to find it. Found it on autotrader for sale and is probably going to drive to go pick it up.

He shoulda sold it to someone locally so they would not sell it too far away... I would never be able to find my old S13 if I tried. I probably wouldn't recognise it. SHUT UP BART!

I sold my old s13 to a "friend" who said he really needed a car badly and i needed the money so i only sold it to him for 500 bucks, next day he sells it to somebody for like 1200 bucks who then sells it to somebody else who never titled it and then gets into an accident and tells the people my info and i get the insurance company's call.

Needless to say i let my friend have it and told the insurance company what they needed to know and they took care of it.

In the end the car now has an s15 motor and 6 speed gearox and he's selling it for 6500..boo
