I just found an AWESOME program for my android phone.

It's a fake Tricorder. Except it's not just some dorky fake display, and isn't really all that fake. It actually provides a collective interface for viewing data collected by all the phone's sensors (which, when you start to play with the thing, you realize just how many there are).

The crap it can measure is astounding:--It can collect and graph gravitational data (using the phone's accelerometers).--It can similarly use the phone's magnetometer to collect and graph local magnetic fields.--It graphs noise, showing a few different graphs and measuring by dB.--It graphs (positional) geographic info from magnetic, cell, and GPS data and shows a really useful overhead compass-based view of current GPS satellite locations and signal strength, with north and true north both defined on the rotating compass.--It also lists all detected electromagnetic (radio) signals (sadly, the phone lacks AM/FM antennae, so what might be the neatest feature is reduced to showing Cell and wifi signals and info about them).--And it also retrieves data from the SOHO satellite regarding the sun and solar wind, sunspots, solar flares, and even shows an image of the sun which can be altered with different filters.

The geographical data is the neatest thing. Combined with Google Maps, I've got a way more robust GPS device than the aging Garmin GPS12 my dad always brings along for hikes and motorcycle rides.

This phone has reminded me how much PDA-type devices rock. I've owned Palm and Windows CE/Windows Mobile devices in the past and my new phone's the best of both...great UI/OS with a rapidly-growing software library.

I do miss my old NEC handheld PC, though. That thing was seriously badass at the time. I loved whipping that thing out in English class and booting up Word.

Totally rad.

My dad had an old Palm Pilot, that thing was super awesome, I always wanted to use it.

Hey guess what it's FRIDAY.

I need to go check out some apartments. My current roommate is moving for school so I need to find a little 1-bedroom place to move into. It's infuriating how few apartments have washer and dryer connections...I refuse to haul my laundry to an effing laundromat or public facility when I own my own friggin' appliances.

Thank God It's FridayIm suppose to be at work at 7 am but I got to work at 8:30....only an hour and half late. I blame it on the alcohol. Coming to work late and hungover is not a good look on a Friday morning. Had a great night last night tho

I debated sleeping on the couch last night, but I figured I wouldn't make it to work on time.

Would've been better if you ended up with a knobber or something. And, do you fight with yourself often?

She forced me to drop him off after we went to go get a pack of cigs cuz they got into a huge argument (about me lol). We dropped him off and she wanted me to go back to her house. I didn't go inside the house but we stayed in my car for like 10 mins, made out and I told her I gotta leave lol it was already 3 am and im supposed to be at work by 7 am

There is a very high probability that I wont leave the couch tonight. I'm not allowed to spend any money this weekend, so that is going to limit the amount of things I can do. Might be a weekend of GTL, movies and Forza 3.

no gtl for me, though, i'm a fatty. 12 pack and garage time for me tonight. work tomorrow.

Dude...Google Sky Map is AWESOME!!!!!!

It has tons of display options and can even tell how the phone is oriented (so you can rotate the phone from landscape to portrait and anywhere in between and the display stays right-side-up. It uses all the geographical info it can collect to basically form a viewport to the stars. Hold it up and look, and it shows what stars are in front of you. It's AWESOME for using with my dad's Meade EXT90 telescope...you can't use it for fine aiming but it really helps get the basic area down.

You can sort displayed celestial bodies by classification (constellations, planets, messier objects, etc.).

There's even a "night mode" that replaces all colors but the black backdrop with red making it easier on the eyes in the dark.+

It's frickin' AWESOME.

Fair enough. I was thinking about starting drinking, but it IS a little early considering I have no sporting events to prepare for.

I shall present then, as a topic of discussion, the KFC "Double Down" aka "Double Threat"

Can I get it with a fried egg? Or maybe BK quad stacker-style?
