I think you'll be impressed with some of the changes they've made.

It was very cool - They actually came to US and asked for some assistance on getting rid of the "ricer" stigma that they've kinda gotten tagged with.

We gave tons of suggestions, and they seem to have taken them seriously.

Also, the new spokesmodel / interviewer is phenomenal (pics in the gallery under "News").

thats great to hear. If it wasn't for F1 I would have completely given up on speed already. Now they just need to cu back on thigns like the NASCAR fishing hour and pickup WRC again. I think they really underestimate the market they could have if they stopped having a corporate identity crisis

the problem is, speed is owned by fox, and fox is butt buddies with nascar now

notice how since fox got the nascar contract 5 years ago speed has become a much better channel, but the material has been increasingly all nascar?

i took a look at the speed channel forum one day, its pretty funny, 95% of it is nascar bashing and "bring back real racing" threads

i guess theyve even had to close the forum down a few times because the bashing got so bad

I don't have the numbers I did in front of me but I believe NASCAR and NASCAR related programming was something like 80%-85% (not counting the infomercials) of which only about half of that was any sort of actual racing/qualifying.

From a business standpoint (this is where I got banned lol) they would be better off by starting a purely NASCAR channel and then letting Speed either run its course to death or (what I believe would happen) the fans onf nongarbage racing will come out and watch it especially because the nonnascar stuff is so much less expensive to produce. When they do NASCAR stuff they have people on site with a crew etc. With F1 they send one person to the races and one camera guy. no trailers and sets. WRC they give nicky grist a tshirt because he is already there then they have announcers do voiceover.
