I know this is burned out, but....

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Does anyone know if the US sr20 axles will fit into the JDM blue bird transmission?

I have seen like 10 billion threads on this topic and I don't care what anyone says - if you can put the BB engine in the car w/ the sr20 FF transmission you can do the AWD setup too - It's just gonna be more work.

If someone can tell me what axles slip into the front of the transmission I will design and figure out how to plum the rear.

I have read some posts saying you can use the AWD transmission as a FWD transmission by just leaving the rear output "dangling", but I just want some confirmation to this

Oh - and If I can figure this out - I AM going to make my sentra AWD (with time)

You'll be the first I've ever heard of, hope you've got a deep pocket.

I'd assume the halfshafts would plumb in just fine.

why does everyone seem to think this is going to cost sooo much $$$I just can't figure it out....

So are you guessing the spline and length of the axles is the same or do you definitely know for sure they are??

AWD setup, good luck with that. It's going to cost some money, but good luck. I remember someone on NICO was doing that, never got an update though.

While the tunnel through the floor exists, the exhaust goes through it, so you'll have to move that around. If that weren't enough, the USDM firewall doesn't have a hole for the AWD transmission. The rear suspension setup may cause problems as well.

That alone will make this exceedingly difficult an expensive.

it won't really be that difficult to cut the whole channel out w/ a cutoff wheel, build a new wider channel out of sheetmetal and a brake. As for cutting the hole in the firewall, use a big *** hole saw. And for the rear end I was planning on taking the whole back end out of a 240sx ( Of what I have read pretty much all nissans have the same gear ratios in the diff, but please correct me if this diff has a different gear ratio, so I can adjust my plans accordingly) Anyways Plumb the 240 rear end in (double, triple check your measurments) and weld it in (minding that you will probably have to add a little more subframing to the back end)

So does this seem really that expensive?? to me - NO (it sounds totally worth it)

I am currently working on some plans to do all this, when Im done I realease them to you all as a PDF or somethingBUT if anyone has some good pictures of 1) the rear end to a 2402) the AWD transmission (just the back)3)and a good picture of the whole bottom side of a b13 or b14for the 3rd - Im probably gonna take em next time I have my car up on the lift

Is the rear width of a 240 the same as a Sentra? I have trouble with the idea that this will actually fit. Furthermore, I think this firewall mod immediately makes the car illegal most everywhere. However, I suppose if you have the means and another car, that really doesn't matter.

this is a valid point, one im trying to find out. I would like someone w/ a 240 to measure the OD of the tires as well as if anyone knows about the gear ratios - pass the info

As far as the car being illegal - who cares, just about every mod ppl do is illegal. If you have a CAI that says its for a civic and you make it work in ur sentra - it's immediatly illegal - and whos really gonna climb under my lowered car and check to see if I have a hole cut in my firewall???

In Cali everything is illegal, sure, but here in GA we can get away with quite a lot, especially in non-emissions counties. My point was simply that this is a good idea for a track car, but a DD based on this setup would be horrible.

I wasn't planning on this being my DD. I am going to be purchasing a 200sx w/ a sr20 in it for this conversion (I'm gonna get one that's got a blown motor or something - so don't get worried that I'm gonna ruin a perfect car)

I have posted some pics on my site about this conversion - I have drawn a rough draft of the undercarriage (stock) and the necessary conversions (but I forgot the changed drawings at home - I'll post them up tommorrow)

The biggest prob I see is the front crossmember that ties the two lower control arms together - It may need some cutting and welding, but I'm not sure - I need alot of good pictures still)

Oh and By the Way - I'm planning on driving this car mostly in the dirt and a little on the street - but if I can get out all the kinks (over much time) I will drive it more often - who wouldn't

They had two rears in the S series RWD cars 200R and 180R - they have different ratios - (they were also used in midyear ZX cars as well) -
