I Know Nothing...Enlighten Me Please.

Ok. I'm a Honda guy and always will be. I know a great deal about building Hondas but absolutely nothing about Nissans. I just bought a 2008 Pathfinder SE and love it. That said, I was wondering about the lingo.

What is my chassis code? What is my engine code? And where is a good site to shop for aftermarket goodies?

Also...I really want a set of nice 18, 19, or 20 inch bronze rims. Nothing flashy, very subtle. I would love a set of Bronze Rota Grids (TE-37 knock offs) or something of the like. I guess I will be needing 6x114.3 with a +20-30 offset.

I really have to hook up some nice simple bronze rims to dress this thing up a bit and make it my own. But I have no idea where to start looking. All of the sites I've been to just have the big, fruity, chrome monstrocities. Any insights into this would be great!Thanks!

chassis code is R51

it should say R51 somewhere in the VIN

and there are 2 available engines for the 08 year.... 4.0L V6 is a VQ40DE (VQ is a nice engine.... G35 and 350z uses VQ35)

5.6L V8 is a VK56DE (from the nissan titan)

haha...i can see we have a fellow JDM-er here...welcome aboard just remember that thing you feel is over 4500 rpm is VVT not vtec

JDM is now mainstream, but it's still sick. Gonna be finishing my EK this winter. CTR style all around with a b20/vtec swap on an ITR transmission. Should rip pretty good. Gotta nice set of Wedssports TC-05s and am looking forward to deserving them on my ek! All else I need is the wing. I'm the same tag on honda-tech. Check it out this spring. I should have already started my build thread, but I'm already aesthetically finished (mostly).

Anyhow...I'm still looking for a good source on R51 gear. (Ooooh, I know my chassis code now!) No one seems to make decent rims in 6x114.

Help! I'd like more options than the Grid Offroads!

i just picked up an '08 se myself. check out bossmotorsports.com i'm planning on gettin the boss 330's in silver. i'm trying to keep it low key also. the factory rims are machine finish so i'm trying to match that. don't know the color of yours, but they offer those in our unusual lug pattern in silver, gunmetal, black and the usual CHROME < not for me either!!! i'm gonna check out that civic too, had 3 myself, 2 '93 hatches(rip) and a '00 4 dr. miss 'em all. !DOWN SINCE DAY ONE!

btw does anyone know if the v8s have vvt? just wondering
