ok first off when I search for this subject, I see that when people ask, it gets shot down pretty quick, with good reason.

Im probably going to use a Holset anyway but i hang out with a bunch of SR guys and look at the s14 T28 which look similar in size to the RB25 stocker. though if i remember correctly the compressor housing is bigger on the RB25 turbo, which would limit the power output severely. Not sure on the exhaust end of things, heard its about the same.

I simply want to know if anyone has actually tried it. I kinda want to try it out for kicks, but a little worried if it may surge to be being not really designed(undersized) for a 2.5

It will make 280ish on a sr, I wonder how a RB25 might react.

Like I said I have read what some of you have said on why it wouldnt be a good choice, I simply want to know what somones results were that was crazy enough to try it. There has to be someone :p

Big waste of Time, Effort and Money. But if its what you wanna do, don't let anyone tell your different.

Question, why are you infatuated with T2 flange turbo's and you have a T3 flange mani.

If I were you I would get the largest T28 Exhaust housing / A/R you could find.

From what I remember the RB25 Turbo is a T28 Turbine and a T3 compressor.

What you need to do it learn how to read a compressor map, then plot whatever turbo your interested in.That is the best and only way to size a turbo properly.

There is your problem right there.

If you had one just laying around f-it Make an adapter plate with the T3 hole pattern and a T2 stud pattern. A T2 hole tapered out to a T3 facing the manifold.

I couldn't see looking for a T2 turbo on purpose when there are so many T3-flanged units out there.

If you would be willing to step up to a 28rs, atp turbo makes a t3 flanged housing for it that can be converted to an internal wastegated type setup.

In the suby world though, anything smaller than a 44lb/min turbocharger is a waste on the 2.5 sti's. On a rb25, i would imagine that with the shorter exhaust runners and 2 extra pulses, spooling a 30r sized turbo would be quite simple.

Cool stuff. i guess..... Im defiantly not putting money into the idea. No offense I know how to read a compressor map, and I also know how to read a post... I was just curious if anyone has actually tried it.

but yeah interested info came up anyway so I guess it wasn't a waste of a question.
