why do z32 rear shocks don't work when swapping the aluminum uprights into an s13? I'm asking 'cuz i just sold the uprights (knuckles) to a friend in town and need to know if it's true that the z32 shocks are different legth.

I feel I have to ask, because I have heard both sides of the story. Ppl say they are different leghts, but I've yet to see proof. SCCA said that z32 shocks can be used into the 240 if you don't want to buy co's.

From SCCA: "There are two options here. Either switch to a twin-turbo rear shock, or ditch the aluminum."

From nissan perf. magazine:"For those of you that are not going with a coilover setup, it is possible to buy Z32 rear shocks and modify them to fit the S13."

Plz answer me...

Its not the shock length thats different, its the shock mount, Z32 rear shocks use a fork mount which is incompatible with S13 shocks. The body mounts are different too. So in other words, no, they are not interchangeble, you would need custom rear coilovers.
