Bring the window all the way down and then all the way back up, and hold the button up for about 10 seconds. It should work fine after that. If it doesn't, just hold it up for a longer amount of time.

1) Fully open the window2) Pull the window switch to the "auto up" position and HOLD IT for 4 seconds after the window is closed.

I had no idea these had auto-up until I read about how to enable it after the battery is disconnected... I immediately ran outside and discovered the switch pulls up even farther.

One thing that's important that I just remembered, there's no stop features (well at least I haven't found one). I decided one day to see if the window would stop going up if I put pressure on it, and surprisingly it didn't stop. Even when I was pretty much hanging on it. So I guess keep all body parts inside the ride at all times.

This video posted on YouTube is labelled Tiida and shows the window reversing when it hits something. I have not tried it myself.

I just tried it myself, too. It seems the window has to be up to a certain point before it reverses. I tried it using my forearm, and it didn't work (by the way, I only required 16 stitches, and the cast comes off in three months). But the window did reverse when I placed an empty water bottle (with cap) towards the top of the window frame.

Huh, go figure. It works when I tried the bottle. When I tried before, I hung onto the window until about halfway and chicken out. But it's good to know I'll be safe. Thanks.

Here, this is what the manual says about testing that feature! lol

INSPECT THE FUNCTION OF THE ANTI-PINCH SYSTEM1. Fully open the door glass.2. Place a wooden piece (wooden hammer handle, etc.) near the fully closed position.3. Carry out fully closing operation with auto up switch. Check that the glass reverses without pinching the wooden piece, is lowered approx.150 mm (5.91for 2 seconds and then stops. The glass should not be raised with power window main switch while it is reversing or lowering.CAUTION: Use care to avoid being pinched during the inspection. Do not use a hand, etc. in place ofwooden piece during the inspection. Check that auto up function is normal before inspection, following the system initialization.
