I have a 06 spec-v I just want about fifty more horse then I have. Simple right, start to look, people say turbo is out to many problems. So I look for a high horse bolt on head like chev. does or ford no one knows what I am talking about. So I look for headers, exhaust I can buy a cheap one that bolts to my cad converter or one that does away with it. (hopefully the inspector will not look. Plus the bonus is the guy at stillen says that they have alot of problems with the motor sucking the cad back and destroying itself????????????????????????????????????. I can not say how much I miss my high horse chevy that sucked tons of gas. Life was so simple. Please any help will do. rob

Intake - NISMO, AEM, Injen, othersExhaust - BRM, NISMO, HKS, Stromung, Thermal, othersHeader - Hotshot, NISMO, OBXHigh-flow cat (still legal, but more power) - BRM offers Magnaflow, you could also order directly from Magnaflow or a whole list of other cat makers

Specs love bolt ons. All of that will give you 30-40hp (at the crank, not the wheels).

You could also go for a balance shaft removal kit from JWT and get several more, and cams from JWT or NISMO if you want even more power.

Some 2.5s have been turbo'd without issues, in fact there's one here on NICO, but if you only want a nudge more power, there's no point in risking bent rods.

The NISMO stuff won't void your warranty. The other stuff might, but shouldn't, depends on dealer.

The stock precat (in the header) is known to disintegrate and be sucked back into the cylinders, so a header is not only better for power, but it also gets rid of that risk. Make sure to relocate your 2nd O2 sensor behind the cat or get an O2 sim and you'll still pass OBDII tests.

I think if you want to make it to the 50whp increase or more mark you are pretty much going to have to go with forced induction. The cheapest way would be just doing the basic bolt-ons and then put the car on the bottle as well (nitrous).

I have a T3/T04 turbo on mine and I haven't had any major issues for a couple years now (albeit my car has been apart for damn near a year but not because of mechanical issues).

Yes the import world is much different than messing with a push-rod engine. It is not necessarily a bad thing though but it is a bit of a different realm.

Im actually researching putting together a low boost(3.6psi) turbo kit for my spec. Im hoping it wont send up an ses. but with 3.6psi youll be a tad over 200hp. So far getting parts off ebay its looking like itll cost between $800-1000. Worth it seeing that cams themselves are over $750. Plus ill have the sweet pssst-vrooom-psssst effect.

3.6psi? What turbo are you using? That's hardly a whiff, you probably won't even be able to hear it.

I suppose that will be within the realm of the stock injectors, fuel pump, and FPR, just a matter of a mani, turbo, piping, a small IC, lines, and fuel management.

Cheap, a few ponies, but I dunno, I'm not sure if it will be much, if any, better over I/H/E and cams.

I/H/M/E is good for about 18-22 whpthen Cams + Safc2 is good for about 13-16whpTBspacer + Thermal Spacer + Ported intake manifold good for another 12-14whp that would make your 50(ish) depending on Sealevel, humidity etc.
