..and got $20 for it.

At first I was psyched I got so much for a used PS2 game.

..and after seeing others go on eBay for $50+, a piece inside of me just died.

I should've gotten the hint when I came in and all the employees were like.. "WHOA, you're trading in Fatal Frame?????"

Nice.

I traded in a few old DS games and managed to get the value of Rock Band out of them. That made me very happy.

I only ever trade in games I don't like. When I traded for Rock Band, I happened to have a LOAD of sh#tty games lying around. Crap like Lunar Knights that I'd never play again, even to save my life.

I don't even own a PS2 anymore and I have probably a dozen PS2 games.

I really hate Gamestop though. I never used to. I used to love the place, despite the useless employees at most stores.

Now, though, nearly everything about EB Games/Gamestop pisses me off. They've taken their success and said "yeah, we're the only option...so we're going to dictate how game sales work."

The things that really irritate me are their trade-in/used price disparity, their store hours (WTFingF is the deal 10am to 9pm?! Welcome to the 21st century guys.), and the trend of publishers to offer GS-exclusive collectors' editions.

I NEVER go to gamestop anymore unless I have to. Wal Mart gets titles at the same time and is open at reasonable hours (like before 10 FREAKING AM!). Or bettery yet, often times I can get the same game at Target for less than at GS PLUS a free $10 target gift card.I don't want any of my money going to Gamestop anymore. Sounds kind of hippie, I know, but Gamestop sucks at what they're there to do: serve the gaming community. Their monopoly on the market is extremely irritating.

ya i dislike gamestop/eb. and sway towards best-buy target. I dont like wal-mart but like it better then gamestop. I usually give really crappy games away for free to friends or like donation places, but for the most part i keep them. I mean you buy these games for like 40-60 dollars new and when you go to trade them in, you get like 5-10 dollars for the most part. Really lame return. I would rather just keep em on my shelf as conversation peices, or to play them once in a blue moon and thats always provides to be fun. Plus maybe in a few decades they may be worth more then a lame 5-10 dollars. And on the other end. Gamestop buys used games for dirt cheap from people then turns around and raises the price toooo high. I mean these guys are making big bucks doing this, I see so many used PS3 games go for 55 bucks......why not just buy it new? i mean jesus!

i remember back in middle school i traded a couple ps1 games in.....and got like 50 cents for each one.....its like wtf!?

ACTUALLY..

I love GameStop. even working at Best Buy and getting about a $10 discount on every game, I still go to GameStop.

every week they have promotions on trade-ins, like "trade in 3 ps3/360/wii games, get an extra 30% trade-in value". and if you're an Edge card subscriber, you also get an added 10% trade-in value, on TOP of the 30%.

I went in and traded Fatal Frame (PS2), Smash Bros Brawl (Wii), Resident Evil 4 (Wii), Smash Bros Melee (GC), & Kingdom Hearts 2 (PS2). I ended up getting $82.25 for my games.

$82.25!!

I know that I paid a good amount more than that for the games, but everything has depreciation. In my book, that's a pretty fair trade for a handful of games that never see the light of day anymore. so I got to pick up Call of Duty 5 AND had an extra $24.33 on my card. not bad if you ask me.

and for the Edge card that I paid $14 for, I will always get an extra 10% trade-in value for my games, get a 10% discount on all used games, AND get a 1-year subscription for GameInformer magazine.

AND ANOTHER THING.. if you buy a used game from GameStop, you have 7 days to play the game and decide if you want to keep it or not. on the 7th day after purchase, if you decide not to keep the game, you can bring the game back in and get a FULL REFUND. so you can basically "rent" out any used game that you choose, for 7 days, for FREE.
